So a few friends and I went camping at Crabtree Falls in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. It's about a 3 hour drive from my house. I was the only one out of us all that had real experience camping. I had to let some things blow with the wind because the rest of them didn't know too much about setting up camp, keeping a clean campsite, etc. I honestly had to clean every single dish, pot and pan because they all thought they were home and could just leave dishes lying around. Despite that, it was an awesome time and we all had a load of fun. Here are a few pictures.

Unloading as we got there - about 8AM

My kickass 99 Golf made it the entire trip to Montibello, through the Parkway and about 2 miles up the mountain on a rocky ass, hole littered, dirt road with two crossing streams (with 4 people and all our gear in it). I love my car.

Hiking back down, or in the case of my friend, Haley, running back to the camp after hiking up the mountain.

Refilling the Golf. She was riding nice and low. lol

We were all pretty exhausted and high in this picture. MY friend Mike was drunk and high, as you can see.

The sun was in my eyes.

My friend Haley in front of one of the small falls. There were falls and streams everywhere. 'Twas awesome.

    A very needed rest.

I used to love camping at Crabtree Falls when I lived in VABeach. I had a Neon that made it down that same road. I parked at the lot at the top of the falls and some guy in a jeep was pissed that I made it back there in a car. Was it crowded? Sometimes there would be tonns of people. Sometimes they were cool, sometimes it was redneck fest.

It was very nice camping out there, and it was very nice to get away from Hampton Roads, and since you lived here, you know exactly what I mean. There were a good amount of people. It was pretty busy, but we camped at one of the first sites on the road and there wasn't anyone else camping for probably a mile around us. It was very relaxing.
