I’ve been using for the past 6 years and I think I have my first abscess or boil. On Friday I was really desperate and I shot MS Contin and I missed the vein. It caused a bubble under the skin that has not gone away. It is tender and a little discolored, like a bruise. I’m using warm compresses and take antibiotics. Is there something more that I can do? Will I need to get it lanced? I can’t really go to the doctors, he can’t know that I use. I’m sure you all understand. Thanks for any advice. Dickie
where is the abcess? is it warm to touch? kinda like a small golf ball stuck inside? tell dr, you were shooting, injectible vitamin b12 and didn't use alchohol, didn't know what you were doing. just wanted to get healthy. if dr ask, where did you get injectible b12, say pet online source. if dr, is not a choice... than what some people do is, take 3ml syringe attached with 18G needle and suck out the puss. to get a visual tutorial, search for the man whose arm exploded on youtube.com, might help or not. hope swiy feel better, abscess is serious shit. should seek dr, immediately if it is abscess.
That’s a great idea about the b12. I never would have thought of that. Thanks. It’s on the inside of the elbow. No it’s not warm to the touch and it does feel like golf ball just much smaller. It’s not very painful now either. It is getting a little smaller, but I will get medical attention if it doesn’t go away in a few more days.
no fever is good, and keep massaging, use warm towel, or electric blanket, but no longer than 20mins, and keep taking antibiotics, they help. sound like it's going away. and stay away from that site for a while. swim had something like this on calf muscle, couldn't walk or barely stand. it was red-hot swollen, swim almost went to the emergency room but after talking with a nurse, swim decided to wait a little longer and two wks went by n gone. b safe
Now, I read a while back somewhere on the internet that when that happens, it's the drug stuck under the skin but unable to go into the surrounding tissue. It'll get better, but it just hurts really bad for a couple days til it shrinks a bit. Should be fine soon if not now.
Well I went in to see my doctor yesterday. He said it wasn’t an abscess, just a blown vain. What a scare, almost enough to make me quit. I’m missed the vein and skin popped before and this is more then that. I know it has something to do with MS Contin having gum in it.
dickiegirl, it's probably better to quit now, for sure! swims clean now but still craving... and swim know this is for life. now that sux.
