My best mate is black. She just jokes that I'm a wigger and we have muchos fun walking down the street together what with my racist hometown telling her to "go home" and me to get some "white pride."

I kinda get where she's coming from. As black people we were enslaved and now that we're not, we're constantly pushed to conform to what white people have. I think she was pushing you to embrace your hair as God put it on your head because she wishes she could.

:shrug I personally don't think every person who has dreads should have them. Some people look a hot mess.

As long as black people question locks on white people, I will question all chemical treatments on them, as well as the act of straightening hair, which i know alot of black woman do

Black people who straighten their hair are ignorant.

    ...

Don't tell my grandmother that, she straightens her hair and will beat me. D:

Why is a black person who straightens their hair ignorant? Is a white person who straightens their hair ignorant?

LOL... You've had tangled hair for like week.

And DLFTW, "Black people who straighten their hair are ignorant."

That's fucking retarded. They can do what they want with their hair and been fine.

You're ignorant. Seriously, your 15, how could you really know?

Racism, will it ever end, dreads are dreads no matter what head its on, Black, white, asian, or native people are people, Once we as a collective realise this point then world peace becomes possible. When ever i have a black person telling me whites cant have dreads i laugh, because it reminds me racism isnt just part of the white community but part of the global community and i realise how closed minded alot of people are. Its like saying baseball is for whites and basketball is for blacks, It sounds stiupid dont it, well so does arquing about what color skin dreads look best on, your friend needs to get over her ego and her fachist mind before her own rasict beliefs consume her and if i was you i would never had let her try to get rid of my dreads because she didnt like them on a white, I would have raised my middle finger way up high and walked away, some people, some people......

Ever since i have had dreadlocks, this has been a bit of a topic.
On Y!A and Youtube a bit of people are always saying that only a certain race can achieve dreadlocks.
    Or even "good" dreadlocks.

Honestly, some black people have what you would call a "standard" for dreads
    "neat, fresh, and clean"
which is why most blacks have thinner dreads..
Because thicker (in most people's minds, white or black) = not washed, bug filled, pot smokin', dirty hair.
    Or simply non attractive.
which is a... bad way of thinking.

That's why most salon dreads are always sorta thin
and if a white person go there and ask for dreads they will come out looking like Mamajojo about 10+ months ago (no offense lmao:D)

Honestly, I used to have thin looking dreadlocks
and ever since they've gotten thicker, fuzzy, and full of congos i've even had black people to question if i washed my hair.
Some one even had the nerve to say "i should start over"
    Seriously...?
    Oh... i don't think i mentioned that i'm black.

I just think that people should at least take time to learn the truth about dreadlocks. You've heard the saying... "you cant believe what everyone tells ya"

Yeah.... i try to promote the truth.
