So, I was told last night, by one of her friends, that a co-worker of mine talks shit on me every chance she gets.:(

So, I guess I'll wait until the beginning of our next shift together to confront the stupid bitch about it.

Fucking petty people. I hate them.
I noticed I was getting the cold shoulder from some people I was just starting to get to know at work... Suddenly outed from smoke breaks, that sort of thing. Just what I need being new to this area once again.

Have you ever had to confront a co-worker about their bullshit?

Show the slightest bit of upset and she gets her payoff. There are ways of confronting that will take the wind out of someone's sails. She's likely jealous of something about you. Tell her with a big smile how flattered you are that she thinks you give a flying fuck about what she thinks of you.

I have to be cautious, she has lots of friends there, many are higher up on the work totem pole... Her daddy is the program director downstairs.
That's what kills me, she works in an inulated environment full of friends and family.
I'm new, & struggling to make things work for me, practically have no people here as far as friends go...
    The situation sucks.
I was just going to get her at shift start because she has to be around me all day. I want her to have a taste of how uncomfortable she's been making my work days.
I'm not going to swear. Still haven't decided how to word it, but thank you for any suggestions you have.

Ah- so complimenting her makeup and commenting on how difficult it must be to keep both faces looking pretty is out of the question then...

Save it for when you're working a two-week notice.

i'm in a similar situation at work myself, theres these two girls there, who are both smokers and have been there longer me than me and they are always together, u know. i dont smoke but if im on shift with one of them they invite to come outside anyway and have a chat, but if they are in shift together they just ignore me all day chatting together. and sometimes when i come through they give me looks like they been talkin shit and i know they were laughin at a picture on my phone of my fella (probably not as 'fit' as there lads or sumthing, and that hurt more than anything else) also they completley take the piss coz i dont smoke havin fag breaks all the time while im graftin the whole day with no breaks.....damn work sucks sometimes. i havent bothered saying anything. hopefully i can fuck it off soon and move!

If someone were talking shit behind my back and I found out, I might express how flattered I was that they found my life so interesting they felt compelled to talk about it constantly, like stinkfoot suggested. Depending on the situation, though, I'd be more likely to either rise above it and let other people form their own opinions or dominate them socially.

I had this issue at work once. coming from one ugly bitch who had started working while i was away at school. We met when i retuned to work, and was later informed that she was saying things about me being snotty/cocky, even though we barely knew each other. i was annoyed, but not threatened. I just carried on, just very cold toward her, knowing that an inferior little bitch was not worth the effort. I didnt think she was worth a confrontation - her actions really spoke for her character. and so she probably continued to hate me, but i eventually became indifferent to it. At first it hurts to think that you're being gossiped about, but you have to come to the realization that only a really insecure person needs to do that, especially if you havent provoked them in any way. the coworkers who really knew me did not take her word seriously.
You can be a jerk, or take the higher ground, but just dont take it to heart.

Ugh, I had this problem at work for the longest time and it is SO nice to finally have a crew that just does their work and doesn't have to talk shit. I just lived with it until the management changed. But yeah, ugh, always someone trying to start drama with the girl who the bosses like because oh god, she actually works! I sometimes still wanna cry when I think about how fucking horrible they were, just because I don't understand how anyone in the world could be so nasty, and why they chose me of all people? I mind my business and just do my job. :(

    Thanks guys. :cheers2:

Yeah, I hate drama, the hostile environment there is dragging me down with it atm.
I don't think I'd be able to go without saying anything to her.

I'm taking a week long vacation at the end of July...
I obtained a reference from an RN there, & will begin looking for a new place of work after that... I will have put in one solid year. So, mostly I'm just trying to keep those two goals in sight right now.
