Simmer it in milk, cool it, nice anti inflammatory drink (india & indonesia origin) use fresh root, grate it, steep in some boiling water, makes a really high potency sinus wash it rid upper respiratory infection.

I'm not really sure how to cook with it, I always find it over powers the food I cook with it.

I used to make a kind of cous cous thing with it though.

^ its a pretty mild tasting spice. if it overpowers the food then you put way too much.

i put it in rice, and also have tried it simmered in milk. isnt horrible, but i wouldnt drink it every day haha

It doesn't so much over power, but it's easy to put too much in and spoil the whole dish.

hm, well in rice i only put about a teaspoon per cup of rice. a little goes a long way with turmeric. definitely measure it.

Mmm I did a lazy effort at trying it as a sinus rinse. Bad on two accounts

    1. Used powdered tumeric
    2. didn't boil it

It burnt like like and inflamed my sinuses, I used a sinus rinse sachet after that and the burning went away
