buying a piece online or at a headshop?

i have $50 that my uncle gave me for graduation and i want to spend it on a nice piece, but im not sure whether i should get it online or not. i'd just buy a visa gift card (or hopefully i'll get a debit card soon) so i wouldnt have to worry about sending in a money order or anything. are there any advantages to buying one at a headshop though?

also if i do decide to buy online can i still buy from EDIT if im not in the UK? cause i swear i read something on there that said like they dont ship overseas if the order is over $25 or something? if i cant order from EDIT whats the next best place? are either shivadas or grasscity good or is one of those two better/more reliable? thanks for any advice.

 

going to headshops is nice cause you can scope out the pieces and see what you like/don't like as far as shape and colors.

Plus you are more than likely helping local blowers.

 

Personally, I thing glass is something that you have to hold in your hand first. Even though you spend more at a Head Shop, I find that you really don't know what the glass is like until you see it up close. I was just looking online, I wanted to replace the bong I smashed last weekend. I think I am still going to wait until I have the time to go shoping. It's not like I don't already own over 20 pipes.

 

Shops are nice, so you might as well check there first. If you don't find anything locally you can always brown online then, but like others are saying it is nice to be able to hold the glass in your hand before you buy it. Also local places are willing to barter, hard to do that on the internet.

 

Go to a Headshop.. I like looking at all the selections in person, and picking them up and holding them to see which ones I like best and all that.

 

Headshops carry made in china pipes too.

More so I like buying at a shop for all the above reasons and you get to support local business.

 

Yeah one headshop near me buys gorilla glass pieces and charges 3x as much as the site does haha. Then again they also have a nice selection of actual glass, like my sick heady dry piece that I got from there

That is what I thought at first too, but it definitely has no downstem. Instead that chamber just fills nicely with smoke, and the pipe rips better and harder than any other pipe I have smoked out of.

 

I would go to a head shop first. I've looked online but never bought. I just like the whole experience of going to the head shop (almost always w/ a friend) & just seeing everything in front of you at once &, like other people have said, you get 2 hold it so you get a better idea of exactly how it looks and most head shop workers are pretty cool 2 talk 2. Also if you order online sometimes you dont always get the same colors or whatever you saw in the pic online. So yeah, I would say go to the head shop.

 

ok well considering i have no way of getting to a headshop any time soon, i think im gonna get one online if i can find one i like. but i was looking at grasscity and EDIT... GC has a bigger selection but ive heard that EDIT is better... also can i order something over $25 from EDIT if im not from the UK?

I didnt see anything about them not sending products over 25 dollars.

 

I'd say head shop for the reasons stated before me, and especially if you live with parents who would care.
