So I'm not too sure what to think about this whole situation... I came home from college this year and in my first week back I met a completely awesome girl. We had our first date yesterday.

The problem is that no matter what happens this summer (unless we completely fall in love and run off to Madagascar) it's very unlikely we will be able to keep any kind of relationship going when school starts. How should I approach that? It's a little early to discuss it with her but at some point I'll have to say "Look... (etc.)" Is it OK to have a summer fling?

I say, as everything else in our lives, you should just enjoy the moment and think in the 'now". Let the future write itself. :)

^^ I would tend to think the same way, but this is mostly about her. I don't want to get into something that's going to leave her hanging.

Ooh, don't fuck her around too much. Even if you tell her repeatedly "it's just for the summer", there is no telling how much she's going to fall for you (or you for her). I'd break it off, to save you from future pain. I know the experience .

As long as you are honest and straightforward with what you want.

If you are 100% honest, I say go!

If the girl says she is okay with your intentions, after you are honest, there is really nothing more to do. Though some girls lie to themselves and later break down after not getting a relationship, even if they claim they just wanted a fling. Be aware of that.

    have a summer fling.
you'll never regret anything, and you'll have fun.
just talk about it once or if it gets serious, so your both not completely surprised and heartbroken when summer is over.:)

Even if it ends up badly it's still better than whatever else you might have done this summer.
Its perfectly acceptable to have a summer fling.
