Nothing really important, I mean to me I find it big news just because the Titanic is my favorite historical subject either. But it's something to think about, the last living connection to one of the most famous events of the 20th century is now gone, and the Titanic is now officially nothing but history. And within a few years all the last veterans of WW1 will be dead, and within 20-30 years there will be no living veterans of WW2, it's just weird the moment history officially becomes nothing but literal history with no living connections left http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/hampshire/8070095.stm I really like her joke about how she would've been an American had the Titanic not gone down. Last month the BBC did another story on her about just being the last survivor, and she made another joke I think rings true especially since the blockbuster movie came out but rest in peace great ship Captain Edward J. Smith in regards to the newly built Adriatic which at the time was also the largest ship in the world until the arrival of the Lusitania. Famous last words
Wooo, I'm glad there's 1 other person here who knows more about Titanic then what the 1997 movie said. Have you ever seen A Night to Remember?
well its kinda good that boat sank ,, It was full of arrogant rich people.. could only imagine what kind of filthy offspring they could of produced on American soil?? In the day they treated second class citizens like garbage .. They deserved their Fate.
Its sad that the last strings to such an important event have been severed but thats just how things go I suppose...The lusitania was actually sunk off the coast of Cork, in the harbour of the village where most of my family live about 10 miles away called Courtmacsherry, the anchor is at the entrance to the village. It was sunk by a German U-Boat And Orison, it was mostly full of poor Irish trying to escape the troubles and poverty in Ireland but yes...there were a lot of rich pricks on board
The Lusitania was an epic sinking, the ship sank in a whole 18 minutes, the Titanic took 2 hours and 40minutes
yeah, then again I suppose the Titanic wasnt bombarded with torpedos though My uncle takes people fishing and diving over the wreck, I was out there diving last summer but the weather wasnt great and I didnt get a chance to explore the wreck, maybe this summer though
wait till some rogue North Korean subs start sinking passenger ships.. now thats gona be some history.. :leaving:
around that I think, not too sure...Either way I didnt even see it when I went down but you could see it on the radar
It'd be fascinating to see it. It kind of sucks though how the Lusitania hit the bottom it's in pretty bad condition. it's funny the Lusitania had to sink only about 300ft but got destroyed in the way it hit the bottom while the Titanic had to go near 2 1/2 miles to the bottom and at least the bow stayed in great condition
...In the year 3500... Paleontologist: This is a fossil of a Titanicus Surviverous. They are believed to have gone extinct around the year 2009. Me: Indeed
