Failed abstinence-only programs have cost our government more than $1 billion dollars. President Obama’s budget makes clear that the government won’t waste federal dollars on programs that don’t reduce the number of teen pregnancies or keep teens healthy and safe. Instead, the Obama administration is investing in evidence-based sex ed programs that have proven to help prevent teen pregnancy.

Teen pregnancy happens, why waste money on programs to "educate" teens.. It's pretty obvious that if you have sex chances are you could have a baby...Didn't know you need pamphlets or lame PSA's to tell people that one..

Wow, with pregnancy rates like we have, you'd be surprised.

Perhaps we have always had high teenage pregnancy rates in the UK...but "in the old days"...it would be swept under the carpet and the pregnant girl would suddenly gain a new "sister". That or life in some horrid "fallen woman" home..otherwise known as a nunnery .

Wait. You guys are talking like girls don't give birth on your school football field on a regular basis. Is that supposed to be abnormal or something?

Meh, I say instead of spending this money on lame programs they should instead put a receptacle on every street corner where teens can dump their babies..

I think it's a good idea.. They can also use "going green" as an added bonus...

I live in the region with the highest teenage pregnancy rate in the entire United States. Makes me proud. :)

    I wouldn't have a clue to be honest. :)

When I went on the geography trip to Spain, they showed us a hole in the wall and asked us to guess what it was for; it was for people to leave children they couldn't look after to the nunnery.

You try screaming when your diaphragm is shoved up in your throat...you can't even take a deep breath. (I know it isn't real, I'm just stating a fact)

I am betting the guys would be running in the other direction if it were real...holy shit they freak if we talk about our periods as it is...
