    I grasp air
    as if it were a dollar bill
    blown from my hand
    and it flies.

    The value of the act
    nominal but no matter;
    I make the attempt
    with little pride.

    I remind myself
    that even as flowers
    need the company of weeds;

    Air is just a synonym
    for something rank
    we breathe.
