I just found out about this awesome technology! It is so cool. Not for me... But cool none the less. It is like an x-ray that can tell what kind of chemical is in the package. Everything... Coke, meth, 2c-b. It is coming to a post office near YOU! I am pretty sure that the army is using it already. I have a buddy that works in the mail room and he told me about it. This isn't good for the internet vendor and mail orders... I am pissed off... What do you all think about it?!?
Fuck, that does suck. I wonder how it works. No fear, those involved in the drug world are nothing if not resourceful. I doubt it will even be six months before a way around this tech is devised.
that is both absolutely fantastic for me, and absolutely terrible for me. Ah, the plight of a psychedelic scientist . . .
I don't see how this would work. Airports tried a similar technology with their 'puffer' machines, you walk in and a puff of air hits you and is tested for explosive particles. You can't identify a chemical without having a little bit of it. The puffer bomb detecting machines are all being taken out because they're unreliable and they break down too much.
This is totally different, I looked it up on google. I'd be lying if I said I understood entirely how it works but the technology is very versatile. It works like a super X-Ray (allows you to see through clothing with amazing accuracy, check out some of the pictures), but chemicals will all emit light of different wavelengths and frequencies; that's how they can tell what it is.
i guess this is the same technology as the knew Xray machines that see through your clothes at the airports. interesting stuff, http://www.thznetwork.org/wordpress/index.php/archives/221 http://www.thought-criminal.org/2007/05/18/the-terahertz-scanner-sees-far-beyond-the-naked-eye note the dates of the articles,i imagine this stuff is really coming of age now.
It is actually radar (millimeter-wave radar) that sees through your clothes. Some airports use this technology now. Chemicals will show up exactly like anything else would.
I researched it fully. It is most def. within grasp of the us post offices. It WOULD FOR SURE find the chemical. BUT! Although I can't find verification of this, I would assume that tin foil is enough to get around it. I guess it falls in between infrared and microwave range. We know thats before the visible spectrum. Can any wavelength be larger than the visible spectrum and still get through metal? Even a thin 1 sheet? Probably not. I know we work with microwaves here in the army and there can't be anything blocking them. I would assume it would be safe. Also, it can not see through tap water because of the metals that are in it. Is this because there are more dense metals than aluminum? I don't think so. I think that aluminum is fine. Just not for me... The army will see a suspicious package and open it to scan it with terahertz if it needs to. X-rays DO fall in place after the visible spectrum making it possible for them to go through metal. That is the first stage anyways (if it were to be used in POs). They X-ray all of them, then tera-ray(?) the suspicious ones. What a wonderful life it is. Right when I though we had one up on them with the analogues and all, they come out with some crazy fucking ray that can see that I have 4 hits of acid in my pocket... fuckers...
or even better http://www.skynanotech.com/uploads/THz_spectroscopy_of_explosives_and_drugs.pdf goto drugs of abuse section and look at the images.
lmao, look at these pictures. Anything look familiar? http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=terahertz scanning&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi
...2,5-dimethoxy-4-bromoFUCK_THIS! if the security guard would like to see me naked they should just ask :/
