Who out there listens to the wonderful world of Jazz? I hope a number of you do because this is HIPFORUMS, and hey man, us jazz cats are hip. ha!

either way man, who is your favorite Jazz musician of all time, what is your favorite Jazz album of all time, and the threesome, what is your favorite song of all time (jazz) ?

My favorite artist is the silver hands Thelonious Monk, guy knows melodies man, his songs are sweet, definitely the man, but a close second, Miles Davis, and then likes of Billy martin, the drums for MMW, guys a monster madness genius.

Monk's Straight No Chaser, i like the back alley Italian feel it gives me, and like i said, his melodies, they stick out something gracious in that album.

Favorite song is one that cheers me up man. So good, Sonny Rollins, Sonny Stitt, and Dizzy G! Sunny Side of the Street. This is just a great happy go lucky tune, and Dizzy has such a crazy voice.

take it easy and keep beee bopping.

ooh I love jazz! I like miles davis (of course!) and I love dave brubeck (I know it's not 'real jazz' for some people... I heard people calling him 'a 5th rate barpianist', but for me, music is about feeling, and has he got feeling!)

Paul desmond is great... john coltrane of course... well anyway jazz is cool :)

I love the MODERN Jazz... and I'm not talking about those crazy psychadelic stuff, nor Soft Machine, but just modern jazz. The drums does not allways have to be that teeeen-dee-deeen teeen-dee-deeeen and you find some very insteresting stuff...

Oh yeah, I'm very in love with Jazz music.
I love the bird, Charlie Parker. He's so great, the greatest.
And some of my other favorites are Lester Young, Chet Baker and Dizzy Gillespie (sp?).

well let me tell you palmer, you may want to start with shackman to get a feel of their earlier years together, but their latest album End of the World Party (just in case) is just awesome. they wont fail no matter what album you get! righton

My favorite Jazz group has got to be the Rippingtons.
Every album they've come out with has been excellent

And the 'Live in L.A.' album blew the studio albums out of the water.
