My friend is planning to extract some DMT hes looking to find out if this will work ok... add 1500ml of water and 25g of lye to mixing bowl add 100g of mhrb to the bowl and mix for 20-30 mins add 100ml of naphtha and mix for a further 20-30 mins allow the mix to sit for 20-30 mins till the naphtha separates remove the naphtha with a turkey baster and leave in a tray for evaporation. This is my friends first time extracting DMT, he would be very happy with anything you can add at all to make this go more smoothly. thanks.
He understands this way isnt the best but hes got all the materials ready to go for the tek above, would these amounts and time scales be ok?
If you're set on a STB, at least get some pH strips and use some heat on the aqueous solution before you put the solvent in the mixture. Hot solvent holds a lot more. You'd also get much cleaner product by freeze precipitating, which also lets you re-use your solvent. Do multiple naptha pulls as well. I'm not sure about the amount of NaOH to water being right. I know that you do need to overload the water with it to break down the bark. Heat helps this process.
I had very good luck with this stb tech that i adapted from a few different ones: In a 1 qt Mason jar. 100g lye mixed with 600 ml water.added slowly in well ventilated area.Left to settle for 30 minutes or so, making sure all lye is dissolved. Add 100g powdered mhrb swirling slowly while adding. Once it was all added The jar was rolled for about 30 minutes.Mixture should turn quite dark.let settle for a few minutes. Heated 150 ml warmed Naptha (heated using boiling water, with naptha in a small mason jar inside a strainer) Added Naptha to water rb mix.seal tightly. Rolled bottle for 30 to 40 minutes, then let sit overnight. Using a turkey baster, carefully pull off 75 ml of naptha layer, place in small, covered glass jar. Put container into very cold freezer for 24 hours.pour off naptha and leave out to fully evap and dry..blastoff Do multiple pulls by heating 75 ml naptha and adding to the stuff still sitting on top of the rb mixture.. On the 4th pull, take as much naptha as possible without getting the gunk in it. enjoy
^ Agree. Definitely do more than one pull or you will leave some behind. It is also better to wait a little longer (at least a couple hours) to make sure everything separated well before basting it off. Be careful with the lye (eye protection is absolutely necessary...maybe keep some vinegar around just in case). I think it's best to close a container tightly and roll it than it would be to stir it.
dude, straight to base works fine...it's hard to fuck up, and this is his [your] first time, so A/B might be too tricky... my advise: naptha smells like death, so use odorless mineral spirits [oms] break up the bark VERY finely against the grain [use garden pruning shears], then use an old coffee grinder to powder it. and wear a dustmask, because this purple air-born death powder emits from the bark after grinding, and it made my friend REALLY sick upon accidental inhalation...even if you have a dust mask it's good to let it settle before opening the grinder... put the bark in your jug, and add the water, and roll it. um...you might find it easier to use a plastic dental syringe instead of a turkey baster upon retrieving solvent off of the water mixture, pour it into a mason jar, and decant 3 times with mason jars to make sure you get all lingering base out. the lips of the jars seem to make this easy...don't forget to pour slowly. freezer precipitate it for at least 24 hours, the crystals often float in the solvent as well as cling to the sides of the jar, so pour off and filter off the solvent (getting the goodies, a friend uses a tight-nit dress shirt as a filter) and recycle the solvent. you can either let the remaining solvent evaporate out of the crystals on the side of the jar, or you can harvest them wet (which breaks them down) and dry them to more of a powder [that looks kinda like fresh dpt]. REUSE SOLVENTS...or it would get really expensive. you really can do a few GOOD pulls, and from there, it gets shitty...but you should make a lot at once, because it keeps pretty well. an A/B nerd will give you some long explanation about how there's still oil, but i know people who prefer the orange stuff over the snow white a/b stuff. and whatever you do, don't call it elf-spice...
