Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone here knew by any chance what exactly the Bible says about smoking marijuana. Is it condemned as a sin? Or is it something that's OK to do?

You have to "Do" it with the same Heart that Able had when he sacrificed his fatted meat offering to the Lord. Then its REAL good.

Im Muslim so I dont know.. ;)

Illegal drugs such as weed and pot do cause intoxication. Therefore, a large or small amount of it is clearly prohibited in Islam.

Read all of Ez. 34:25-31. YHWH is saying that he will give his people peace in a land where they will not be mauled by beasts, be the shame of the nations, or hunger. The "plant renown" refers to a "planting place". All other translations (basically)... http://bible.cc/ezekiel/34-29.htm

Once satan infiltrated the church he started tryinna erase Kaneh Bosm outta the Bible. Look at old Hebrew texts of the old testament. These guys wer all smoked up alla time. Even when they marched they had stenchers swingin. They wer loaded with Kaneh Bosm. They even made Oil outta it and rubbed it on themselves and all their utensils! God LOVES Kaneh Bosm. Its the devil who switched the words in the new texts. They switched Kaneh Bosm with "sweet smellin cane" or "sweet callamus". There ya go. Theres a straight up purposfull LIE and DESEPTION rite there in your nkj. Herb is GOOD. Dont let the devil tell ya any differant.

"Jesus w as almost certainly a cannabis user and an early proponent of the medicinal properties of the drug, according to a study of scriptural texts published this month. The study suggests that Jesus and his disciples used the drug to carry out miraculous healings."

“If cannabis was one of the main ingredients of the ancient anointing oil _ and receiving this oil is what made Jesus the Christ and his followers Christians, then persecuting those who use cannabis could be considered anti-Christ,” Mr Bennett concludes.

God would leave chemicals behind that would be helpful to get us to see reality for what it is. That is my honest estimation.

Personally, marijuana can be very helpful in getting you to realize the matrix.

Moses wanted to escape the slavery of Egypt. To me, the story represents how people see so called 'civilized life' as being very restrictive to who we are as a people. Life is supposed to be a dance, not a chore. They did not want to base their entire lives in maintaining a so called 'great city'. Breaking their backs to make a few happy just to be provided with some food. They no longer wanted hierarchies and wanted to be free from all forms of oppression and go back to a natural life as God intended.

What exactly was Jesus trying to explain throughout his teaching? He was against the system. The matrix, and it was his duty to get people to see the matrix and to get people to stop supporting it so that we can all live more fulfilling and communal lives. There is something about marijuana that gets you to see this. It doesn't cause 'delusion'.

'Civilized' life is shrinking our brains and our spirits. This is my most humble opinion, and most likely a fact. How pathetic is it that we need to use a GPS system to figure out how to get from point A to point B. Being animals and all, that is so sad that we can't do this without constant direction reminders. What ever happened to maps? We are becoming so weak minded.

If it was up to me, I'd live in the wilderness with a native American tribe. I can't think of any other group of people closer to God than them. In fact, it has been proven that some tribes have Jewish blood and may actually be the lost tribe of Israel. The true Jews then would be the native Americans. The Bible actually talks down on the incense that Jewish priests send up to heaven. It is a mockery to the God of the Bible, and so is the praising of a wall. No offense to the Jewish people. But it seems that the life native Americans lead is actually more in lines to Jewish law and the Bible than what some Jewish peoples practice.

Sorry for the rant, but I think that it ties in with the question: "Is marijuana a sin?"

Before we jump the gun on this whole kaneh-bosem thing.

Reservation 1) Is kaneh-bosem psychotropic cannabis, or is it the hemp plant?

Reservation 2) The holy anointing oil was used to anoint priests and the tabernacle vessels.

Reservation 3) The Bible does not necessarily condemn the use of psychotropic drugs (like alcohol) but surely does not endorse them.

Reservation 4) You got anything to cite about Native Americans being the Lost Tribe of Israel?

Reservation 5) It is not civilized life that is doing anything. People just aren't taught things anymore by their parents. I do not need a GPS. I can read maps. By the way, "what ever happened to maps"...GPSes are maps. People use GPSes because they are driving in an unfamiliar area with many turns and dead-ends (ever tried to drive around a new subdivision?)

Reservation 6) It bothers me, not as a Christian--but as someone who studies religion, that people boil down the message of Jesus and his followers as "against the system", or "against authority" or in this case "against the matrix". Well Jesus was all for the system where everyone submits control to God's authority. There is also the issue of loving God above all things, and then loving other people above yourself. Also, depending on what Gospel (and I reference the Gospels in the NT) you read, his mission is to bring people closer to God, or to warn them of the coming judgement, or to save them from their sins. What do you mean by matrix anyways?

    Ya, I scare people =/

Anyway, to answer your question. No, I don't think marijuana is a sin. The Bible never mentions smoking weed as a sin the same way it never mentions masturbation as sin. If it doesn't mention it, at all, then it can't be a sin. That's how I see it.

Also, if there is any plant that possesses a chemical as beneficial as THC then I would imagine God 'leaving it behind' for our benefit.

Being a drunkard is a considered a sin, and I am not sure if it applies to marijuana. The Bible doesn't mention not to be a potard :p But it does say that the body is a temple and that it should be kept clean by remaining sober. But I am not sure if smoking marijuana would apply because of its many benefits.

Hey buddy. I'm doing great, ty.

Ya, it wouldn't make much sense if they were just burning hemp. I don't really see the value in that, even if its supposed to be symbolic. Also, how can hemp be used to treat illnesses? Burning regular ol'e hemp would probably give you a headache. Hemp is anti-marijuana because it actually inhibits THC from affecting your brain. I don't see how regular oil hemp oil would have any special significance in anointing priests.

I think that God would want us to have fun and to be merry.

Hey Cannievergrow, can you direct me to the line in scripture that shows that story that you are describing? Sounds funny and cool :)

Its there in Exodis somewheres round 30. I think He gives a couple recipees in there. One for Incense and one for Oil. I dont think God was forbiddin the priests from puttin this Oil on themselves. I think it usta be Jews only. Thats what I think God was sayin when He said "Not to put this stuff on nobody elce". I think He ment it was only for Jews. Gods Chozen. I think God was keepin the Herbs for Himself and for His people!:)I dont know how to make paragraphs so Il seperate my paragraphs with smileys.:)--Annyhow. If what Ucr Cds tryinna say is that we'r not suposed to put this stuff on ourselves, -Im sayin hes wrong. Their IS no more priest. No one needs to stand between you and God anymore. Ding dong the priest is dead! Everybody in your tents! Sewwim up tight bruddas! Let the coals touch your lips and take away your inequities!:)Please dont use this stuff friviously tho. Dont stand on the corner with the niggas talkin loud and grabbin your joint while your smokin the Herb. Smoke it with God in your hearts and on your mind and it will help you comune with the Lord. Use it frivilously and the devil will use it to destroy your soul.
