Hard boiled eggs- the yolk is fat.
    Salmon is a fatty fish.
Nuts are full of fat. Actually they have more fat than peanuts, because peanuts are a legume (like black beans, kidney beans...) not an actual nut.
BUT peanut butter is bad for you?

Eating a high protein diet does not help you burn fat in your sleep, and eating several small meals that include a protein throughout the day keeps your blood sugar from dropping or spiking. It does not rev your metabolism.

Your metabolism is always working including when you sleep, no matter what you eat.

260 is close to the 240 lbs that I calculated as being your weight when I did a reverse calculation based on the number of cups of coffee you stated as needing to kill you with the caffeine (in that old thread).

    Ha. :)

Have you put on 20 lbs since then?

since then, man...complicated...net overall gain of weight would be around 20....

but in actuality, i shot up close to 290...then dieted down 40 or so pounds. maintained that, and i drove across the country and got lazy and ate lots and lots of food.

so yea...i think i could lose 6-10lbs of water right off the bat, more than likely closer to 6-7 is my guess, but 10 wouldn't be all that surprising.

yeah...i don't know what i'm talking about at all...

peanut butter is bad for you because the nuts are crushed and turned into an oil, look at the nutrition information on the side of a jar and it will show usually a higher fat content than protein although not hugely so but still
i take back the word bad for you, just not the best thing and certainly not as great as most people think

and not all fat is bad for you to intake
your body needs varying ratios depending on your body type and level of fitness/acitveness of carbs, fat and protein
    http://www.nutritiondata.com/

i realize that your metabolism works all the time but protein helps your metabolism burn fat rather than your muscles.. which is something that happens when your body is at rest

it's not like i'm getting this information from people that have gone to school for nutrition and are paid to help people lose weight and become healthy or anything....

Absolutely! Which is one of the reasons why I'm really big into protein. I used to be a total carb addict, and let me tell you, it's crazy how much better I feel after a protein packed meal/snack instead of carbs.

I also have more muscle to me than I did when I wasn't taking in as much protein. So I'm slim, but not a sickly kind of slim, I'm toned, strong.

I don't have a personal trainer (well, besides fitzy! Haha!) but I do get a lot of insider tips from my SIL who DOES have a personal trainer. Many of the things she's told me have helped me out tremendously with my work-outs and nutrition. :)

I always wondered how much water it would take to kill you.

I don't have a scale in my house either. The only time I get weighed is when I go to the doctor's (I nearly have a panic attack when I do it though so there are many times when I refuse to be weighed) or if I go to someone else's house that has one in their bathroom and I'm feeling particularly brave. But I try to avoid weighing myself for the most part. I get too obsessed with the number and I know it's not good for me.

Last time I was weighed was about 3 months ago. I was surprised to see the number (was lower than I had anticipated). I think I'm probably a tad lower than that now even. Not by a whole lot, but some. I have no idea, probably won't know until I get the courage to step on a scale again. Funny how something so simple turns into something so horrifically terrifying.

    That's a good idea.

I closed my eyes and told the nurse one time to please not tell me the number and the brat told me anyway. Whether she forgot or was trying to be rude, I don't know.

Most of the time if a nurse presses me to get on the scale, I'll simply tell her that I have a long history of eating disorders/distorted self image issues and a simple few pound gain is enough to send me into panic mode, something to which I want to avoid. I try to stay away from my triggers, and there are times when I feel like I can handle what the scale says, good or bad, and other times when I just want to avoid it altogether.

But yeah, that particular time I think the nurse was being ignorant. She probably looked at me and thought I was being ridiculous which is why she did what she did.

My doctor never questions when I won't step on the scale. Sometimes he's tried to get me to (when he thinks I may have lost too much weight) but he realizes that the scale is an obstacle for me, and many times I just don't have it in me to face it.

    Silly, but true.
