I have been doin alot of thinking about the nature of reality and the use of mescalito. The thing is for me is that it grows abundantly in my reality. I have experimented with many ways to unlock the spirit of mescalito. Don Juan says that mescalito shows you the right way to live. From a shamanic point of view, that is simply the intoxicated state induced with the mescalito produces and altered state in which one learns the nature of reality from another point of view. A point of view contained in the intoxication produced by the cactus. The sacred communion of plant and man which the creator of everything made is what causes the non believer to believe. How could this be possible or real? one asks themselves. This is what is sacred. The visions and communion of some outside force. An inorganic being of some kind. The plant itself being now assimilated into your very essence and being has a conciousness of its own that can communicate with you and shows you 'YOU'.

 

The use of mescalito is not found in peyote for the white man. He dwells among us in the trichocereus var. or San Pedros (St. Peters.) The keeper of the key to the gates of heaven. The use of mescalito for the natives was found in peyote, which was done during the evenings in shelters full of participating peyote ingestion. This was there religious communing in the presence of GOD through the mescalito state.

 

Peyote is hard and takes forever to grow. The trichocereus is the new path. The routes of ingestion are not hard to perform. All one needs is a long sharp knife, a blender and a cookie sheet.

 

The first method to be used which will be the most effective is that of juicing the cactus skins. Rember with the trichocereus only the first outer layer of dark green tissue is used. The rest is not medicinal. This reduces the amount of cactus used to begin with. The skins are despined with v cuts underneath the spines. Then the skins are removed by cutting down along the inside of the column to remove the dark green inner flesh and skin. The standard dose is 12in of trich var. The harvested skins are pureed in a blender, By adding skins 1 by 1 through the opening in the lid. Fill blender halfway at a time so as to not overwork the blender and get a good puree. The puree foam is cooked over med high heat while stirred to reduce foam into a dark green juice. The juice is then strained a few time through a standard baking strainer. The resulting juice can be reduced and stored in the freezer until use.

 

The second method takes the whole thing a little further. After the juice has been procured from method one. This method involves pouring the trich juice in a flat bottom glass baking dish and cooking in the oven at 150 degrees until almost fully evaporated. Finish the evap with a common household hairdryer. The resulting solid is then scarped, powdered and stored for a 10x concentrated cactus extract powder.

This could actually be taken even further by soaking the concentrated powder in everclear or rubbing alcohol for 3 days. then straining through the plastic reusable coffee filter a few times to remove excess sediments and thin out oily redues. The resulting liquid is then evaporated for a 20x concentrate trich var powder.

 

The last method is the most obvious. This is to take the harvested and prepared skins and dry them as is. They are put on a cookie sheet flesh side up, in the sun or in a 150 degree oven until dry. This may not provide the most effective route to mescaline ingestion. But from the point of view of being at a party, club or gathering. You could eat low doses of mescalito and gradually work your way up to heaven as you went. Plus the ability for non users who have never tried it to start climbling the ladder rung by rung. It may be the best way to take it for communal purposes.

I believe that human perception is subjective, and life is one long trip, in a loose sense of the word. It's up to the individual how meaningful their "trip" is.
