Get a medical marijuana card. There seems to be this sort of resentment against people who get cards for non life threatening conditions, which I never understood. For example, pot helps me sleep, I just smoke it 3 hours before I want to go to bed. That should be reason enough to be able to use it. Plus, if allot of people use medical marijuana, thats definitely good, not bad. Im assuming the tip you wanted was marijuana related like that, since this is in the pot section.

    Hmm.. tips. here you go!

    1. Wear a lot of sunblock!
    2. Try to eat AT LEAST 3 meals a day. 4 is better.
    3. When trying to meet new friends. act like your a local and use slang such as:
"Hey Brosif, whats kicking in your cleats?"
    "Mamma Mia, Wheres waldo"
    4. Dont use the slang I suggested, but make up your own.
    5. Did i mention the importance of SUNBLOCK!!!
    6. Dont wear short shorts, people will think your gay.
    7. Obey the speed limit, a ticket is not a good impression.
    8. Remember your roots, when you get there take a few moments to remember your old city.
    9. Start a volleyball team, im sure it would be fun.
    10. Dont talk to any bums, they know your not from around their town and they will be out to get you.
    11. Get laid as often as possible, i guess its now a fact that if you have too much sex then stds cannot keep up with you.

Theres a few tips for ya!

Your welcome for the friendly advice!!!

    Enjoy!

Get your card... And uhh. Just kick back.
    I'm from southern California.

Northern is a little more uppity and high class. So cal is more laid back. I like it here.

    BTW. Tustin has great weed!
    Same with Santa ana.
    Hahaha

didnt read the whole thread but had to comment on this. Socal has to be one of the most uppity and high class (orange county, LA in general, and san diego) I love both areas but imho nor cal is so much better. That is coming from someone who grew up in both areas.

For the OP: be prepared to spend tons of money on just living. rent, food, gas is way more expensive than where you currently are. right before my former lady friend and I moved east for her school, we were paying about 1000 a month for a 1 bedroom in the mission district in SF (that was only rent). so good luck man i'm making my way back out there too.

It's slightly more around here on average. $1100-1200 for a 1 bedroom. Fucking New Jersey.

Medical Card and surfing has already been mentioned.. where in Cali are you moving? Its a huge state with a ton to offer depending on where you are. I'd say if you're in SF and you skateboard def. check out the spot 3 up-3 down, if you're in Santa Cruz or NorCal (North of Willits) def. check out the Redwoods, if you're in Mt. Shasta or Tahoe area go snowboarding, if you're on the coast go surfing and enjoy the beach daily, if you're in LA see a ton of live music (same goes for SF).. I live in WA but travel to Cali regularly cause thats where I wanna be living (soon enough I will be) and can def give you more info on fun stuff to do depending on where you are heading. Cali offers SO much, but their economy sucks.. worse than most places right now so finding a job could be tough.
