This weekend i will upload pictures of mushrooms in my friend's backyard..they look like shrooms that i saw in a book once that had psilocybin in it. but im not sure and im gonna do alot of research but will anyone be able to help me identify them when i upload pics? thanks
IDing shrooms over the net is not a very good idea, i doubt anybody here wants to be responsible if you eat the wrong ones and die.
Some can be very distinct, especially when given the right information. However, if there is a chance something could go wrong, I wouldn't eat.
well..not really in his backyard, it goes back into his woods..but those arent even psycoactive we found out. but me and my other friend stumbled upon ALOT in a field today and i think i found panaeolus subbaleatus. im not positive yet im still doing research or whatever..but ill post pics tomorrow
Description: Black spore print Stem width - 1cm-1.5cm Stem length - 3-4cm, 4-6 cm Found on grass/open ground(Terrestrial i think) Cap shape - Umbonate, plane, convex Crowded gills Adnexed or adnate gill attachment, maybe ucinate Cespitose matches the panaealus subbalteatus description, ill need to upload pics tho just to show you guys
Fuck that. I wouldn't risk eating a shroom I found that didn't bruise blue and have a purplish spore print. At least with those two characteristics you're in the clear according to stamets
well they havent stained blue but the spore print was black..everything else matches up with panaeolus subbalteatus http://forums.mycotopia.net/attachm...s-subbalteatus-florida-cow-pasture-subbs3.jpg identical to the ones i picked, even in a field guide i have
if they didn't bruise blue or purple then they are not psychoactive and more than likely going to kill you.
if these are in fact panaeolous subbalteatus(not sure on spelling atm) then the blue/purple markings are covered by the brown stem color, right?
Those look like P. subbalteatus to me. Especially given the description you have given of them. Go to the shroomery and get a positive ID on it. There are several expert mycologists there. For all those that are acting like they are shroom gods/gurus: Pan subbs rarely bruise blue, but are just as psychoactive as Psilocybe cubensis, and grow on grassy lawns around the world.
no those arent mine. im really trying to post pics but my dad removed the battery to my camera for some reason and i cant find it..what are the chances..when i need it most >_<..but they are identical to almost all of the pictures i have seen of panaeolous subbalteatus(panaeolous cinctulus is what theyre reffered to as now)
[/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] these are my pics after 2 days of drying..didnt have the chance to take fresh pics..but they look just like any google image pic of the subbs with the dark portion going around the bottom of the cap
