Considering what is at stake and with the current level of technology for destruction, four (or more?) years of the current Nazi establishment could mark the beginning of the darkest hour in human history since the great flood. If we weren't already in World War III, we certainly are now! I am wearing black today in mourning.
So basically the overseas votes are not counted!! You mean our troups(who are fighting for us) don't have a say? This is totally messed up!
Relax, most of them voted for Bush anyways, based on polls. It's funny that I'm wearing all black today even though I didn't really intend to. Must just be something in the air. I sure do feel like I got beat up, like I'm in a daze, totally drained and borderline depressed. All is not well in the world...
why are we giving up? there is still for us a chance to make a difference. we can change the world if we get together. as much advertising as there was for the young voters to get out there and register the same amount voted as they did in 2000. for the next four years i am at least going to fight to make a change with the help of my community.
The troops are so brain washed they get their legs pissed on and beleive Bush when he tells them it is raining. If they had any brains, they woudn't be in Iraq, Afgan or the Armed Forces anyway.
Whoa, hold on a minute sister. It's generalizing like that which disenfranchised a whole generation. They'd been out there doing things that most of us can't even imagine and when they returned they got spit on, got bricks thrown at em', got beat up, you name it... and all they wanted were some open arms to welcome them home. Those are real people you're talking about. Those troops need our positive support, not some misdirected backlash. Focus that energy on the ones responsible for putting them there in the first place and bring them home, take it and help us all to live in a better world. I for one am not laying down. Today has pretty much passed the neck line on bullshit and I sure as hell don't plan on being 'quiet' about it.
i agree pear tree, you cant be pissed at them for being in the military, a lot of the military guys i know joined up because they needed a guaronteed paycheck, not because they wanted to go killing people. even if you don't support the war be kind to them, make them feel loved........ don't spit on them for being a part of something they were forced into!
I agree most troops did vote for him but, I do recall watching many soldiers being interviewed many had their name badges covered so they would not get in trouble. They were questioning why they were their and questioning Bush as a president. I don't think Bush will last all 4 years. I believe he will do something to get himself impeached.
Pear Tree , if those war criminals or "troops" as u call them are "real people" why do they pretend to be robots. I'd hoped the "only obeying orders" shit had died out at Nuremberg , but obviously the 2.5m Vietnamese murders , plus the many others arent enough for some people... ********** I'd hang the ringleaders after a public trial and leave the rest to rot on forced labour public works schemes for 30 years rebuilding the countries Axxxxica has destroyed. Its time people took a firm line on the atrocities of your country. The rest of the world's tired of American arrogance round the world. More to the point , its not some little dot on the map that most Neo-Klans cant point to. Maybe its time America saw its own buildings being bombed by jets , its own women raped by soldiers , its own millions of children dying from cancer from depleted uranium I dont think ud be quiet so defensive of Russian , European or Chinese troops commiting war crimes like that.
Yes, but Bush might have also learned from past mistakes in Iraq which have almost cost him the election. I do not think that he will again attack a country with such impulse. He will surely make more way for diplomatic process. But hell, I prefer Bush's policy than Kerry's U.N. supporting foreign policy. The U.N. is a terrible biased organization. The world will only come close to an end if someone other than Bush (such as a terrorist organization) takes the first step and starts what you would call "WWIII".
OUR freedom isn't under threat Megara! That's what you and your MIC serving ilk continually fail to realise. No NATION STATE has attacked us nor could conceivably muster sufficient capability to conquer the US. No soldiers are amassed on our borders nor our shores waiting to storm OUR capitol and overthrow OUR government structure, nor does any nation state other than the US possess the logistical capacity to do so. We on the other hand are very much doing so to other sovereign nations. Our soldiers in the field fight and die to expand the control of corporate hegemony, hegemony measured year by year in ever increasing budgetary rewards to our top arms manufacturers and tax incentives to our leading energy producers. It is these interests who have appropriated the control and the direction of the armed services our Constitution demanded be subjugated to the will and accountability of the people of the nation. If you bothered to examine the facts you'd even note how underhandedly this administration has even had the gall to outsource ever increasing amounts of OUR TAX DOLLARS not to those forces subject to the scrutiny of Congress, but to private military contractors like DynCorp who answer only to their shareholders. It is THEY (and the politicos who pander to them) who make the most significant mockery of our troops by paying their contract killers (unsurprisingly comprised of the most indoctrinated and warmongering vets they can acquire) many many times the amount paid to the gullible who buy into the MIC's jingoistic nationalistic PR and allow themselves to be used as cheap fodder to further those selfsame corporate interests. Meanwhile the insulated and misinformed (and in many cases entirely uninformed) public back home is fed a steady diet of flag waving, fear and lies to keep them buying into the status quo and diverted from scrutinising (in any sufficient numbers) the reality behind the rhetoric, namely that we are not fighting a war of defense or preservation of "our way of life", but of expansionistic unjustified aggression. Once again, read The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and its Geostrategic Imperatives by Brzezinski and just perhaps you might finally awaken to the truth of what is being perpetrated in the name of the American public, whose interests it serves, and the reason it is increasingly giving rise to the very insecurity for which it was supposedly launched to rectify. I pray the scales fall from the eyes of you youngsters before your find yourselves becoming mere statistics and names on a memorial wall.
most troops are in a quiet way supposed to support the president no matter who it is. but i just got word...a few guys i know who are gi's either did not vote or voted opposite...i am so proud of them...break it down...dance
I feel ya all on that, Today I woke up at 5:00 am and everything just had this erie feel to it, look's like another four years of waiting so we can all hopefully take another baby step if we get a good pres., truly said and scary.
it was a dark day indeed. but as my brother told me after being out on the road across america, "we just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and we will get to where we need to go".
Excuse me! The Atrocities of OUR country! Our country has done a hell of a lot for this world. We are always helping other countries. And here we are ridding Iraq of a mean heartless ruler that tortured and killed thousands of helpless men, women and children on a constant basis. I am sick to death of people saying the USA is sooo arrogant! Then why in hell do people keep calling on us for help! We dont have as many problems here because of our democracy and for the most part Americans stand together in times of need. We are going through some trying times right now for whatever reason. But I can tell you something Americans will stand together in times of need and I would help anyone out no matter who they were or who they voted for. Even though I get alot of bashing from people on this board for my veiws I would help any one of them in times of crisis. No America is not arrogant! America is a good country with a lot of awesome people that help many countries in times of need and always will. You need to take a good hard look into what we have done for people before you bash us for a few bad moves. A VERY PROUD AMERICAN DZZ
well said...unfortunately, because of our position in the world, all the eyes of the world are on us. Every thing we do wrong is projected for the world to see and speculate on. Doesnt matter, learn the facts of the situation...opinions of others doesnt make it fact..just ungrateful
