Unless they're 14 karat gold, surgical steel, or hypoallergenic. And that really sucks ass because I don't have many earrings that are any of those things, and now I have a giant lump on the back of my ear.
That's one the reason I have gauged ears. All my piercings have surgical steel in them and I never take em out. Try http://bodyartforms.com join the darkside :reddevil:
I have a tiny lump in my ear lobe from seven years ago when I had my ears pierced.. I didn't like my ears pieced, it made my ears feel funny, for my ears told me so...
Daniel's always trying to get me to gauge my ears, his are at 2's now. But alas, I like my pretty hoops and danglies...and don't really like any of the earrings for gauged ears.
my ears are lopsided and earrings make them look funny. what about the cheapo indian kind? those are pretty.
I was in the jewelry repair business for 40 years, most everyone can wear 18kt ear rings. Another choice could be tungsten steel, however if you allergy is nickel that won't help. 14kt gold has, nickel, cadmium, tin and iron. 18kt gold has only copper to alloy it. sterling silver has tin, nickel to alloy it. .999 silver is only silver also can be used (if you are not allergic to silver.) All are hard to find, I suggest that you shop ebay, most of the time the items sold on ebay are from gold and silver buyers. These guys are only trying to make something more than scrap for the stuff. to find out if you are allergic to nickel take a band aid and stick it you arm with a coin nickel on the pad. If you get a reaction you are allergic to nickel (most common). Let me know how you make out. PS Rio Grande findings has 18kt gold kidney wires and .999 silver cheap. Then you can put what ever you want on the wires, Silver, gold etc they won't come in contact with you skin.
Well, I already know that I can wear 14kt gold and surgical steel without reactions, I just react to everything else. And I used to be able to just keep the earrings in and deal with the infection until it cleared up and I became immune to the earrings, but I don't do that anymore, it's just not worth the itching and pain.
