WOW What a shock when Bush won. I really expected Kerry would. Back to dictatorship U.S.A! Guess I was in illusion that Kerry would succeed, but I truly believed he would deep to my core. Guess I'm also surprised with the overall American people. I know there will always be some who are close minded and fanatical, but never thought THAT many would be (as a vote for Bush often suggests that.) No offense to Bush supporters, I just dont feel there can be peace as long as Bush is in office. Hope I'm wrong now! ...... Just had to get that off my chest.

    Namaste,

Just at the moment published here at Germany:

Electronic voting machines malfunctioning in every state they are in use

Exit polls and ‘actual’ results don’t match; Evoting states show greater discrepancy

Possible evidence of voter fraud in Ohio
by John in DC - 11/3/2004 02:56:47 AM

I just received a photo a Cincinnati poll manager took this evening, and it seems to be proof of some fishy actions with ballots in Ohio. Bottom line: Note the already-voted-with ballots in the back of the truck with the Bush-Cheney sticker in the back window. Does this prove fraud? Well, it certainly doesn't look good in a state that's already had lots of problems this election.

In a nutshell, Stefan Skirtz is a poll manager for the Kerry campaign in Cincinnati. His precinct is heavily made up of minorities and students (i.e., leans Kerry). One of the duties of the poll managers, Stefan told me in a phone call minutes ago, is to follow the poll workers to election headquarters as they drop off the ballots and ballot boxes. Stefan followed the poll workers who didn't go directly to the election headquarters. Instead, they went to a local public school where workers put the ballot machines into a semi trailer, and then the poll workers handed off the sealed bags containing the ballots to someone Stefan assumed was with the county board of elections.

The first problem he noticed was that there was no sign off of the transfer of the ballots. Nothing was written down and given to the poll worker as proof that the ballots were passed off to the county employee.

What's worse, Stefan noticed the pick-up truck of the supposed county board of election - the truck the ballots for 40 precincts were loaded into - had a big Bush-Cheney 2004 sticker in the back window. Stefan did say that he followed the truck to the election headquarters, though he didn't see what transpired after the truck pulled into the election hq parking lot.

As Stefan explains it, the poll managers had such an extensive list of voters rights and regulations that they had to follow, including it being illegal to have any partisan buttons etc. in the polling place, yet the ballots for voters in over 40 precincts were put in the hands of Bush-Cheney partisans.

I don't know whether the Bush partisans did or didn't play any games with the ballots they received, but it sure doesn't look good, and I wonder whether it's even legal. And let's not forget, this is a state that was already well on its way to becoming the new Florida of GOP election fraud.

Stefan says he has 6 or 7 witnesses who also saw the sticker on the truck. I have Stefan's contact info for members of the media.

I know whatcha mean, but I just want to forget. I can't stand him, his whiney voice. Well, I suppose his going to war that kills 1,000's of people is annoying, too.

    Yah lotus,

Maybe the only way we can get the real changes we need for the Earth is to hit bottom with such a resounding thud that no one can be in denial any longer.
We always knew in the back of our minds that man would not make the moves necessary to reverse the current trend or greed and waste without something hitting them over the head - hard - as in traumatic . So maybe bush can play the anti part hard enuf to give us that KNOCk that man seems to need to wake him up.
All we can Do is to continue to be true to our ideals in our own lives. Our response is not dictated by what is happening - it's dictated by our Self.
    Peace - we missed you

oldwolf, before that happens I think we have to follow the advice of John Prine and blow up our TV. It is dumbing us down.

A fellow at work told me of some statistics he read. Of all the people who finished high school, only 45% ever read another book, period. Of that 45%, only 10% ever read a book not devoted to pleasure reading. With those statistics, how can we ever hope to grow as a culture, as a nation? This fellow was in the military and told me that the repair manuals were written at a fourth grade reading level.

Lotus, nice to see you again. Was wondering if you had gone off the grid for good.

Both Ken and I are deeply disappointed in the general population of these here United States.

But... If you will notice, the south, which is basically fundamentalist christian, believes the Pap that comes from the gop. "I Pray." "I ask God." And other nonsensical BS. That's all they need to hear. Not much else gets in between their ears and into their brains.

    As for Ohio...
    I WENT BACK TO OHIO
    BUT MY CITY WAS GONE
    THERE WAS NO TRAIN STATION
    THERE WAS NO DOWNTOWN
    SOUTH HOWARD HAD DISAPPEARED
    ALL MY FAVORITE PLACES
MY CITY HAD BEEN PULLED DOWN
    REDUCED TO PARKING SPACES
A, O, WAY TO GO OHIO

WELL I WENT BACK TO OHIO
    BUT MY FAMILY WAS GONE
I STOOD ON THE BACK PORCH
    THERE WAS NOBODY HOME
    I WAS STUNNED AND AMAZED
    MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
    SLOWLY SWIRLED PAST
LIKE THE WIND THROUGH THE TREES
A, O, OH WAY TO GO OHIO

    I WENT BACK TO OHIO
    BUT MY PRETTY COUNTRYSIDE
HAD BEEN PAVED DOWN THE MIDDLE
BY A GOVERNMENT THAT HAD NO PRIDE
    THE FARMS OF OHIO
HAD BEEN REPLACED BY SHOPPING MALLS
    AND MUZAK FILLED THE AIR
    FROM SENECA TO CUYAHOGA FALLS
SAID, A, O, OH WAY TO GO OHIO

    ~ The Pretenders

For myself. I will remember every home that I have passed in the last month or so with Bush/Cheney signs on their lawns. I will give them a wide berth when passing them on the road, and in the super markets.

And when Their president screws us all up royally... I will laugh... haha.

    Good to see you Lotus,

I agree with oldwolf and Luv wholeheartedly, I told Larry a few years back that a depression may actually be a good thing for this country.
I find that so many have lives all tangled up in selfishness and greed.
If something can't benifit or give them pleasure in the moment then turn your back on it, throw it away, or divorce it...
Just the fact that kids are pushed through school and coming out on the otherside more stupid than if they hadn't gone in in the first place should tell us something.
I've met people that were alot more in touch with their common sense because of dropping out early...and living life, than some of these "college" students....

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of intelligent kids in schools and college, but their intelligence is not from what is presented to them as "important".
People need to learn how to think for themselves...its becoming a lost art...as Luv says the TV is dumbing us down as a society.
I was watching some of the election news and Bush gave his acceptance speech...then some show came on about applying make-up....about the correct consealer to apply under your eyes.....now thats some important shit.

There is a new show coming on Monday I believe...it caught my attention because the name of it is something like "the lap of luxury"...about celebrities and how they spend all that dough...the commercial for it asked "did you know Brittany Spears spent 60,000 dollars in an hour?????".....WHO GIVES A SHIT???!!!!!!

Well, luxury to me would be to be able to afford a better brand of toilet paper.
And to alot of people..to be able to buy their kids a new pair of shoes..or to eat more often.

But society just goes on, accepting all the crap that is thrown our way.
No one is interested in finding more cost efficient ways to live..just as long as that switch turns on those enegy sucking light bulbs...just as long as they keep making those gas guzzling SUV's with the 4 wheel drive that all those city folk need, cause hell, there's all that rough terrain in the city.

yep, hit them in the pocket book, hit them in their stomach, let them watch as their kids get called into a greed war, I'm afraid that is what its going to take to wake people up.

I live in OHIO where tons of jobs have been lost, and yet "4 MORE YEARS"...yeah go ahead and screw us for 4 more years, we'll bend over and take it.
Tell us your empty bullshit, we'll believe it although the lights are off, the creditors are at the door, our kids are fighting a war, and we can't afford our medicine.......

The division between rich and poor will grow and the middle class will fund both sides.
No wonder businesses are leaving this country....not just because of cheap labor....they KNOW we're screwed here, and they have a way out.

Its all so generic now, people accept less and less quality so if you make something that has some worth to it...they will buy the cheaper made stuff or they can't buy the qualty stuff because they just can't afford it.
I worry about my business, how many people will be able to buy artwork, when they can't afford to eat?? I sell my stuff very cheaply compared to alot of art, I just like people to have it if they like it, but that will stop I'm sure.

    "WILL PAINT FOR FOOD".....

But as Oldwolf says...if you are one of the people who "gets it", prepare yourself.
You have a realization as to the direction things are taking, how the tidesw are turning.
Be true to yourself, do what you can to stay as close to nature and a natural way of life, for in nature there is all we really need.

I get on my rants and I feel I have a good reception of the things around, but I still live a good clean life.
Paring down is key, no debt, more income than outgo, awareness of what you are living and how you are living. Networking with people who are of a like mind, sharing ideas...all these things are important.

Who knows, when the shit comes down, maybe some of us can pool our resources and get together and be able to be OK.

    Live in love,
    teepi

Ya know, Teepi... whenever I go to the store, I am always shocked at the way the quality of things I purchase is degrading.

I swear, one day we will go in to the local super market and buy empty plastic sacks filled with nothing... And! be glad to spend the money to get it.

A gallon of ice cream is no longer a gallon... it's 2 and 3/4 gallons. FOR MORE MONEY !!!

Aw Shit... I can't fucking stand this anymore... I'm loading up the 30-30 and goin' huntin' for bear.

    Thats what I'm talkin' bout!!!

    Even the little things.
Heck and then the ice cream has crap in it you can't pronounce...unless you get "premium" and boy o boy, you is certainly gonna pay out the butt for that mister!!

I feel sorry for this generation coming up, they will never get the chance to experience the quality that us older one's got in on.
larry was talking about Springfield where he grew up and that there were plenty of neighborhood stores, you knew where to go to get a real pizza pie, a real cannolli,"penny" candy, your shoes shined just right, a piece of handmade furniture made with pride.. when movies were for kids, so that they could hop on the bus with their buddys on Saturday morning and see a couple of cartoons, a feature and get popcorn and a drink all for a quarter.
I know things go up but shit, a kid can't take a bus anymore, can't spend the morning at the theatre on his weekly allowance.
Small bakeries are about extinct. No one gets their "sneakers' shined.....and I won't even go into furniture.

AHHHHH......all the more reason to not watch most of those sucky generic movies, wear my sandals, make my own baked goods, and go to the thrift stores for my furniture......they won't beat me down!!!...lol

While I was typing this...my art supply order came, I just brought it in and all my stuff I buy out of Canada is now going up....I used to get 40% off of their prices, now it will be 30% for US orders.
    Shipping is still free...for now.
But they called the other day and I had to give them a social security or tax ID number.....only a matter of time before I get a bill from Unkie Sam for "import tax"....suck.
They stay up at night while we're sleeping coming up with more ways to get their hands in our pockets......
    gotta go paint something,
    love you all,
    teepi

I think that the more knowledge you have the more you suffer. People use their morals and religious beliefs as a crutch for their fear. They don't want to see the truth. It saddens me to see someone who thinks that materialism validates them as a person. It's everywhere though, and I'm afraid it's not going to change. All we can do is keep going, and not let it effect our spirit. May I always take the road less traveled, and always seek the truth. :)
