I got some sunscreen in my eyes Friday. I was still working on top of the roof though.

The last time I cried was last Friday afternoon in my college math class. All of my emotions are hardwired to my tearducts. I was just staring down at one of the questions and I just started bawling, stole the tissue box and retreated outside for about 15 minutes.

I guess it was a mix of stress, math, and pms. My aunt recieved some bad news a few weeks ago so I'm trying to help her deal with that, and I'm learning about linear equasions and shite in math now. I hate it. I really, really do.

just the other day. i fell in love with a seemingl unattainable woman. it happens to me regularly, but this one was totally different than any other anything i've ever felt... but it doesn't really matter because what will happen will happen and for very good reason.

so i cry a lot lately. not because i'm miserable so much as i'm emotional. all of this love stuff brings up things i never wanted to look at again. and in order to progress as a person i have to look at the things that scare me.

so yeah. i cry a lot lately. because i'm in love. because i'm lonely. because i'm happy. because i'm just full of something that words can't put a candle to.

i think crying is healthy. it took me 27 years to get comfortable with crying. and now i can't stop, lol! but it really does help. hysterical laughter as well. but there's something healing about salty water running all over your face.

believe it or not, i feel truly happy.

i've come to realize that tears do not necessarily mean sadness, and sadness does not automatically assume unhappiness.

it's a revelation, and changes all my previous assumptions.

Sorry to hear about your bereavement.:(
If its what some people want to do/feel the need to do in tragic circumstances like bereavements, then ok fine.

What I don't understand the modern phenomenon of men who cry over day to day things, like having a row with someone, or burning their dinner etc. That I find troubling.

so you have trouble with men who don't fit into common stereotypes of masculine behavior?

i find that many men find this quality (crying over a fight, or burned dinner) an adorable weakness in women, a fatal flaw in men, and generally just a negative thing.

what's so fucking wrong with emotion anyway?

I do that all the time. I try to make myself stop, but that is the thing that just really blows me over.
The other day though, I cried watching "Omagh". It was so sad. I started crying before the movie had even started because I knew what was coming. I'm such a cry-baby-wuss.

    Nothing wrong with emotion.
    .. In women..;)

I think to make sense of something u need to look at 2 viewpoints.
    The "male" and the "female".

I haven't got a problem with men who cry about close bereavements etc.
    Only over minor things.

To me, my obligation as a man is to handle my emotions and be in control of them. Not allow circumstances to beat me or make me feel/look "beaten".
To me, thats what my credibility or "worth" is about.

I think it's great for men to show some emotion. Probably comes from the fact that I have a father that cried when he hear the song "I Hope You Dance", and other such things. On the other hand, I've only seen my mom cry three times in my entire life. Maybe if there were more sensitive men in the world, we wouldn't have so many problems.
