Howdy Hi~ I have a son that isn't circ.d and I've got some energy and info to throw your way, however, I'll have to get back to you on as I am out of time and have to go. But just know this: relax! The foreskin should be retracted in infant at all. If your son is older and you notice him retracting it out of curiosity and exploration that's great. The prepuce sheds dead skin cells and get cleaned quite naturally, but for our sake, if the foreskin does retract, it's okay to check it now and then and wipe off any accumulations. NO SOAP. The surface structure of the prepuce is akin to the inside of your cheek. Sensitive. Water is the #1 universal solvent, so that's enough to cleanse any accumulations. My son's foreskin doesn't retract (but will eventually with age) I sometimes have to check to see if any lint from his undies has found it's way up the opening. I just pull them out. it's pretty rare. I've never witnessed any problems thus far with his foreskin and he's 4.5 now! I have noticed the opening getting a little bigger over the years tho, so yay for foreskins!
We were told to never pull back our son's foreskin and so we obliged. Then he got an infection and the doc pulled the skin back. He said it would be ok to do this lightly to him to clean it. What we do now is ask him to pull back his foreskin while he's soaking in the bath. We never use soap. If he's ever irritated in the penis area we give him an epsom salt soak. Just be very gentle when pulling the foreskin back. Never force. With our second son... he never has issues so we just leave his penis alone. We ask him to pull his foreskin back when in the tub, but since he's only two, he doesn't know how and just goes through the motions. lol
