I found three prescriptions in my house that all do something to help with some type of pain. I was curious if any of these would help my withdrawals? I've been using oxy and heroin daily for some time but not to much of it, now that I can't get either anymore im withdrawing and have pains all over my body. Do any of you know if any of these pills would help? They are: Naproxen http://www.drugs.com/naproxen.html Diclofenac http://www.drugs.com/diclofenac.html Methocarbamol http://www.drugs.com/methocarbamol.html
Diclofenac may help a little, if you're experiencing bone pain. It's for arthritis pain, if I remember right.
Would it be bad to take all three? How much is to much because I know with one or two of those if you take too much you can make your stomach bleed. edit: Well I just took three naproxens 500mg each, hopefully this will help somewhat.
all of those should help a little. just do whatever is recomended on the box/bottle. none of em are opiates so their not going to stop your WD, but it will make it a bit more comfortable. good luck man. i just got over my WD and i feel GREAT now. i dont even want to use for awhile because i done want to go back to that.
lol dude dont even get me started. but yeah man benzos would work great for getting though WD just pop a few and black out lol.
yeah , what those guys said. i was givin naproxen before i was prescribed oxy, and it didn't do shit for me. but it would probly take care of some of your aching muscles. good luck man, withdrawl blows.
Naproxen is really rough on your stomach. Be careful with that. Methocarbamol (sp) is Robaxin, a muscle relaxant. I've found that it doesn't do diddly shit, but I'm very demanding of euphoric effects when it comes to my pills and not very tolerant of shit that doesn't have a little orange label on it (along with the little sleepy eye and alcohol makes it better warning). The only true muscle relaxant is diazepam (valium). Soma is second runner up in terms of psychoactive effects. The combination of the drugs you listed might fuck up your stomach and, since it's probably fucked up already, I suggest caution. This is why I'm such a fan of the kratom. It amazed me that it took the wd symtpoms totally away. I didn't get all fucked up and nodding but I could carry on my daily schedule - when I have bad wd I don't want to do anything but lie on the bathroom floor.
Methocarbamol, like Dilly said, is Robaxin and that is what I was given in two different treatment centers for muscle pain. It worked okay for the first two or three days but then, all of a sudden, I felt like my muscles and my bones were being tightened and were about to snap in half. Withdrawal sucks but I think everyone on opiates should experience at least one really nasty kick because it will make you appreciate your life. Like Dilly said, be careful with those pills because they, especially the Naproxen, could really fuck up your stomach and like the OP mentioned, cause bleeding. get suboxen or subutex. a junkies dream drug. you dont kick at all. you actually feel normal...like u used that day but didnt. the only difference between the two is suboxen has a blocker that makes it so you're unable to get high and if you attempt to you go into withrdrawls.
I looked online to see what Methocarbamol was since I had been prescribed a bunch. What I found was that everyone was using it for withdrawals. They said it worked really well with the symptoms like the bone aches, and a little with the skin crawls, as they put it. Now, when I was withdrawing I was in rehab with Subutex. They had me on a 7 day taper, which worked really well. I went from 8mg 2x a day for 2 days, then 4mg 2x a day for 2 days, 2mg 2x a day for 2 days, to 1mg 1x a day for 1 day Then I was clean. Granted, they gave me ibuprofen 800mg for pain, and a stupid blood pressure pill for anxiety. It was a little difficult to get any kind of medicine to help with chronic pain like I have. After the 8th day my stomach basically emptied itself since there was no longer a bunch of Subutex in my system to keep myself "regular" so to speak. The first 3 days were the worst since they didn't give people things like Xanex there, even though I was prescribed it. In fact, there was a woman there who was there for alcoholism and was prescribed Klonopin, which they wouldn't allow her to take. They made her detox from the k-pins as well as the alcohol, even though she didn't want to detox from the k-pins. They really were all about giving people blood pressure meds for anxiety... which was actually really dangerous for me since I naturally have very low blood pressure. So there were times where I wasn't allowed to take it because my blood pressure was too low, and my anxiety was through the roof because of this place, since I couldn't leave.(I'm claustrophobic and this was one of those places where you can't leave, as well as being a 7 hour drive away from home.) Anyway, back to the Methocarbamol or Robaxin. Like I said, I read up on it, and everything I found was pertaining to using it for the withdrawal symptoms, and that a lot of people were very satisfied with it after taking 1000mg daily for a certain amount of time (which I am not sure of, since it seems to take different periods of time for everyone.) It probably depends on how severe your withdrawals and drug use are. In any event, from what I've read it seems like these work.
Unlikely it was dangerous for you - despite tapering people with other opiates being sort of stupid, it sounds like they generally got their shit right. In some cases the doctors are right, and you should shut your whiny druggy face. The blood pressure meds you're probably talking about are great for anxiety, too good for it in fact. You'll feel like you're about to fucking faint long before you actually have dangerously low blood pressure - they gave you beta blockers because they're tho docs and you're the druggie, and beta blockers were apparently the right choice. They totally do away with your fear responses.
The Naproxen can help with the achy feeling, but you shouldn't go over about 400mg or so per day, and even then taking them every day for a couple weeks straight can hurt your stomach. I speak from experience on this. I had a gout attack back in early Feb. that was precipitated by an ankle sprain from slipping on some ice. I happened to have a nearly full bottle of Aleve, and took 2 as recommended every day for over 3 weeks and drank a LOT of water. It helped quite a bit with the swelling and inflammation, but it really did a number on my stomach. I had stomach pain for maybe 7-10 days after I stopped the Aleve. But anyway, for wd's 100-200mg of Tramadol per day (or more as needed, up to 400mg) will help a lot with basically all symptoms of withdrawal, if you can get your hands on it. They go for around $1 each. Gabapentin can also help you get through it, but it's somewhat harder to find. Another thing that can help a little, depending on how much you take is Imodium AD. You can get a box of 30 of the generic version for around $7. Each pill contains 2mg of Loperamide, which is the ingredient that can help somewhat with wd's. I've used it myself, and got some relief by taking 10 per day (20mg of Loperamide). I've heard of people taking a lot more. Does it work? Yeah, a little. It's expensive though, even with the generic. Personally I'd find someone who has some Tramadol. Of course Methadone works too, but it's extremely potent, very addictive, and the wd's can persist for weeks. Now I realize that this is an old thread, but maybe it could help the op in the future, or even someone else.
