So i dont have a specific reoccuring dream but i do have this weird reoccuring theme that has been popping up in my dreams for most of my life. In these dreams i am usually running away but not always(other common occurance is me trying to inflict physical harm on some sort of enemy) but i can never get away or beat the person up because if feels like i am wearing a lead suit, picking up my legs to move just one step feel like im trying to squat 500lbs. This happens quite often but it has not in a while. Any help at all will be greatly apreciated
I used to have the same type dreams almost. Running away from an unseen or vague force/figure. Can never get away. I never tried to beat the person up, I usually just tried to escape. I never wore a lead suit either or had trouble moving. What it mean? The figure you're running away from or beating up is an aspect of yourself. Literally, a memory of an action you took long ago, repressed out of consciousness. By running away, you continue to deny that it is a part of you. We tend to do this because this force is so primitive and unadapted, basically the primeval instincts our ancestors arose from the past million years. When it comes to beating it up, that is evidence that you turn your aggression towards yourself at times. Blaming yourself and being angry for whatever your past holds. As for the lead suit and feeling heavy, I can't say for certain, but it may be a clue that no matter how hard you try and run, you can never escape a part of yourself. Maybe your mind is trying to slow you down, so you'll stop and try to face the figure chasing you and accept what it has to offer. As for me, I used to have chasing dreams. They stopped 5 or 6 years ago (when I was 19). I met the force in my dreams which caused me anxiety. It was in a cabin on a mountain. I walked in the cabin and felt the uneasiness creep up my spine. I immediately turned around and walked out. After walking around the mountain, I decided to find my way back to the cabin and with renewed confidence, opened the door and walked in. Upon entering, I thought to myself, "Everything in this room...is mine." I saw a dark presence in the room shrivel and dissolve as it was reintegrated with me. I can only describe it like the Quickening from Highlander. Rejuvenated and full of energy. Ever since then, I've never run from anything in my dreams. I have more awareness and control it seems like. The dark energy that makes up "The Shadow" can work against us as well as for us. The energy is there, whether you draw up the willpower to embrace it, or continually let it torment you until you pass away. If you want more information, search for Archetypes, then Shadow. I hope I have helped you in some way. Good luck.
