mmm. iv freaked out on acid before & it wasnt pleasant - but in hindsight was largely due to situation/setting and receiving a dose much stronger than i was expecting.

i would say respect it; research it; and if your gonna do it - plan out the evening so you have somewhere safe to chill where you will not be disturbed. dont do it around people you dont trust. have some benzos and/or alchohol & cigs available for backup.

personally i prefer mushrooms, because you can take a much lower dose a get decent visuals and the trip isnt too long....

I liked what you said about LSD and how you have dealt with it. I don't believe that it makes you crazy either, it just will open the doors to those kinds of thoughts more easily than before.

In general I don't believe LSD is harmful; unless maybe done under circumstances that would promote negative feelings and/or "bad vibes." Which may carry over and cause some sort of "damage" to your brain. Kind of like emotional damage; something that can stay with you for a long time if you don't do something proactive about it.

Since my family has a history of mental disorders, I was only terrified that I was going to develop one too if I did LSD. After my first trip I became incredibly paranoid about everything to an extreme. I noticed this and stopped my behavior after researching that paranoia was a side effect of most psychedelics. I mean, I am a medical patient and have smoked much in my time but the difference in paranoia from weed and from LSD is much bigger a range than I had expected. I haven't let my paranoia get out of hand since then, I just try to be rational and check my fears rather than act on them.

There is good that can come from using LSD but like what ShadyGrove - loved your post dear, it was amazingly well spoken =) - mentioned not many get to this higher plane and can see the good from LSD, they only really see the bad and that it causes people to go insane. But like with any psychedelic you have to be careful and know your own limits. You can push yourself to new highs for the thrill but not then realize the damage you've just caused yourself; or you can take your time and try to learn and reflect while also having an excellent time.

If you havent done it, then shut the fuck up. All drugs fuck you up and 90 out of a 100 people have bad trips, it will not fuck you up physicly but mentaly, wich is way worse becuase it can stay with you forever, just had my first flashback last night. Psycadelics can cause permanent psychosis. Not everyone has trips like terrance mckenna, ken keasy and other Psycadelic icons. If you have not done it dont. If you think you and your friend are going to have a good time like Duke & Gonzo you got the wrong idea.

don't BS people about psychs just because you can't handle a flashback.

I love my flashbacks. I only had a few weird shroom flashbacks, but since taking cid I dont get those, just awesome clear ones from lucy. I get more flashbacks from vacations I've taken than from psychedelic trips.

Come on man we don't need this pollution. First you insult the OPoster by telling him to "shut the fuck up" which is way out of line, then bring in completely bogus statistics that 90% of users "have bad trips". If 90% of people who used LSD had bad trips it wouldn't be a popular drug, at all. Who would desire to have a bad trip if they knew that there was a 90% chance of it happening? Seriously man, get this crap outta hear.

On a different note in regards to flashbacks. In order for a person to have a "flashback" that person has to be off of LSD for at least 5 years or so before it's really considered a flashback. If a person has taken LSD in the past year that is not a flashback that is considered a perceptual alteration. I say this because those persons are not down yet, they are still high. Though the trip has past there are still lingering effects of the drug for quite some time after, especially with frequented use. Those of you who do use it frequently or anyone really can agree that the next few days after taking a LSD trip one feels a bit strange. That feeling slowly decreases over a long period of time, but with frequent use this period of time is systematically increased.

In the 60's and 70's suburban kids would go spend some time with hipsters and become hippies for the summer. The joke they would make is when talking to their parents they would say "I'll be down for thanksgiving".

"life is a massive fucking mystery, and there's only a few different ways to really crack below the surface of that mystery, and the best way is psychedelics. and the heavier the psychedelic, the better. and guess what? no one's dying from psychedelics. all our thoughts on psychedelics are all based on bullshit propaganda that we heard about people, you know, going crazy or losing their minds. you're not gonna go crazy, you're gonna go fucking insane, alright? all that stuff is gonna remove your ego and is gonna explain to you what the world is really all about."

had a huge long arguement with my aunt today about how i've weighed my personal options with my drug use and decided that it's worth the risk like acid for example. as long as i stay in my house or only go to places near by like the park down the road. how am i going to get in trouble (i usually stay home honestly)
