As I said earlier, many people now are beyond the reach of practical reason.

    97) 9:45 a.m.: Bush's motorcade leaves the Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida headed for Air Force One at the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.

I can't make it any clearer than this.

Bush simply froze. Even later in the evening when he gave his speech, he had a lot of trouble even talking. He simply froze. That's not a sign of good leadership.

Here's a link regarding the troops from Turkey. The politics of this are not simple. There were political issues regarding Turkey and northern Iraq that were never resolved before Bush decided to invade Iraq. The offer of money alone wasn't enough for Turkey to come on board before the invasion.

What we need is an administration that has a least some minimal level of competence in foreign policy. One of the problems with Bush is that he has lived his whole life in Texas. He knows no other world than that of Texas. That's one of the reasons he is so out of place when he tries to grapple with issues of other countries (not knowing who the leaders are of various countries, not being able to pronounce their names, referring to the Pope as 'Sir', etc.) It's not a good situation to be in at a time when so much depends on foreign policy.

In some respects, I think Turkey has an interest in calming things down in Iraq before things get too far out of control, as they are now. It's in their interest to have Iraq under control, but at the same time it doesn't want to see Iraq become a strong competing country either. It's a delicate political situation. The Kurds in the north haven't always been on good terms with Turkey either.

Found this to be quite interesting.

"... the senator acknowledged his own struggle to comprehend the enormity of the terrorist attacks. Mr. Kerry was attending a Democratic leadership meeting in the Capitol office of Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota when two jetliners slammed into the World Trade Center in New York.
"We watched the second plane come into the building," Mr. Kerry said on "Larry King Live."
"And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon.
"And then word came from the White House they were evacuating, and we were to evacuate," he added. "And so we immediately began the evacuation."

    hmmmmmmmmm.......... very interesting huh

NOBODY COULD THINK! In his own words, not even Sen. Kerry could think!

Shows you how prepared the people in DC were. I can assure you if it happens again, people won't be sitting around for an hour doing nothing. Or, at least I hope not.

I recall another story about a ordinary man who worked in the tower that was hit second. He was on the phone with his wife and said "It's ok honey, it hit the other tower". About ten minutes later, they hit his tower and he never got out.

It's going to take a different attitude to deal with these situations in the future, especially on the part of people in DC. They are supposed to be experts at being prepared for these situations, and they really let us down on 911. The Air Force really let us down on 911 too. I could have gotten to NY and the Pentagon faster on my bike.

    From bin Laden's latest statement:

"It never occurred to us that he, the commander in chief of the country, would leave 50,000 citizens in the two towers to face those horrors alone, because he thought listening to a child discussing her goats was more important. "

Ya know,Kerry didn't have to react,he ain't the president.Shrub is nothing more then a spoiled rich schoolyard bully.Whenever he had a chance to prove his "mettle",he weinied out.Whenever something got in his face, daddy bailed his lyin punk ass out.His reighn as "king" has shown that to be true in spades. Its easy to order shit, that he never ever had the balls to do himself. How the hell do you think he got in the air national guard anyway?Daddy got his sorry pussy ass in,thats how.Why do you think that unit was chosen?Because they flew F-102 fighters that would not be used overseas then because they were obsolete.
This was all contrived by shrub senior.Get a grip people,Kerry ain't no mr perfect, but at least he ain't a real pussy like bush.Plus he has an intellect that makes bush look even more like a complete moron that he is.Vote anyway you want to,but don't bitch when you have lost the remainder of your rights, and you end up serving masser bush's war machine.

If Kerry promised to have 40,000 more troops to help finish Iraq, then I'm pretty sure if he were elected there would have been a draft anyway. It wouldn't have mattered who got elected...there probably would have been a draft anyhow....sadly.
