wow, The last time I hang around on this forum was a long time ago... but I'm back uuhmz, why I ask if you could help me is because I have a friend, he meditate a lot and know al lot about it. And he told me that I was verry spiritual and that I have to do something with it. so I try to open my chakra's and my first three chakra where verry easy to find and open and it feel verry relex. but that I try to open my heartchakra (I don't know how that say that in english but its the green charkra around you're heart) and it feels verry wierd and I start to shake. and after five minutes I stoped because It diddn't get better. and after that I can't consentrate anymore... so is this normal, or did I something wrong, or is it a good sign, or is it something else? thanks for reading (exuse me for my badly english)
Don't play with chakras and visualizations. Best simple practices now are Tibetan Buddhist deity yogas like Green Tara and Avalokiteshvara. These naturally move ones energies to where they need to go for best development. Basis of all techniques is simple awareness. Use the technique which uses mind least and do not seek to control mind because mind is then controlling mind which creates internal conflict and can prevent deep inner immersion. Chakra knowledge is a consequence of practice not a practice. New Agers who espouse these sorts of practices usually have no thought as to outcome for new practitioners. Best techniques are time tested and thoroughly proven and reliable. I used to do TM, but then I switched to simple Dzogchen practices. I suggest things like Dzogchen White Ah practice which is freely available from a Namkhai Norbu website. Also get their free internet empowerment. Dzogchen is so amazing a system and so quick to understand. TM also easy but their cult is whack. But then so are most cults and sanghas. So as they often say, get the teaching and run. Then put it to use on your own until you're confident you are getting it. Also it's wisest to stick with one technique until you feel you have derived everything you can from it - usually something like seven years. This prevents the mind from continually distracting one with more internal noise. I have so many meditation techniques that I have obtained from masters that if I didn't summarily delimit my practice to just one my mind would never settle down to start any practice. I love long chanted mantras. Get one from a guru. I got Mahashodashi from Devipuram guru Amritananda over the phone. He was very forthcoming with knowledge and the mantra is a Brahmavidya. I once donated money to him but mentioned I was poor and he sent it back. He's an honorable guru. Look for gurus that don't need money or ego stroking. Look to find a lineage that makes you truely happy. The reason is - as I have said a thousand times - we cannot help you with homemade techniques as they are different from anything we may know. It's best to have a society of like minded individuals with which you can course correct when you need to. Also a meditation is the same as the teacher who gives it so look at them to see where your technique will take you. Look at the other students - how they act, etc.... That will show you what you will obtain. It's okay to take a few years to observe a teacher and his acolytes. Do not just jump headfirst into a cult without knowing what it stands for inside and out. Peace and Goodwill to You and Yours.
This depends on where you want to go, how strong of a constitution you have and how brave you are. The shaking is perfectly normal when you bring strong energies into the heart. I agree with what Chodpa says, generally it's best to travel smoothly, without pushing things. However, I don't think this is the whole truth, you can look into the work of Bradford Keeney to see a different approach, he has a great book called "Shaking Medicine" and a website by the same name, www.shakingmedicine.com. He is man who was of the top echelon in his field of psychology and left it behind to study with traditional medicine people in North & South America, Africa, Japan and more, often becoming credited as being of the highest order of Medicine People within their own cultures and given permission to teach from this perspective. I guess I'm a little in awe, it's a great gift to life.
Check out this meditation teacher, I find him pretty interesting. http://www.lorinroche.com/page72/page72.html http://www.lorinroche.com/page70/page70.html http://www.lorinroche.com/page8/page8.html
namaste friends, These Kundalini Cakras, via the Prana nadis, indeed play a significant role in the structuring of the individual experience. This fact is understood by all of the ancient Yogic traditions. With that said, it is also understood by these traditions that the cakras also play just as much a significant role in retracing this individual experience back to its source, that Source being the Absolute. As far as your experience goes, do not be worried that you have done something wrong. It is an extraordinary blessing that you are drawn to this study, believe me. One may have a plethora of experiences with the cakras, some are unpleasant or strange and some are very beautiful. But just let them go and continue. If you connect with any of this, look here for more http://yogavision.net It contains information about the foremost University in the Yogic Sciences, and many many Texts and Writings on the practical aspects of Yoga. It is a great boon my friend. Om Namah Sivaya
