Salvia is now officially illegal in my home state of Ohio. Penalties of possession are 6 months to 1 year in prison.

Just because 1 teen killed himself from salvia use, yet look at the hundreds of thousands of people dying from alcohol and tabacco each year, yet its allowed. Pure utter bullshit i tell you

man that sucks. hahaha i would move and follow the plant until its illeagal everywhere. someday we should all buy our own countries man or we could all go in on one country and make everything legal except like guns and rape of course hahahaha. still that sucks how can they put a penalty on a near harmless plant when they cant put one on tobacco or alcohol.

Yeah, they really slipped this law in fast. Drugs are bad, don't think about it, taking rights from citizens is no big deal.

It was illegal for a couple of weeks before I read about it. Decided I should to destroy my plants (see my albums). None of my friends in Indiana or Kentucky could take care of or wanted them. I have too many other things going on to risk additional charges for plants I am basically growing for the fun of it.

Maybe now I can take time out from committing suicide and just sit down with a couple bottles of wine before going out and driving like a madman.

My understanding is that they just included it in the marijuana laws, an ounce is an ounce. This again shows how no real thought or reality went into any political deliberation.

Ohio has fairly lenient cultivation laws for very small amounts of mj so the same would apply to salvia. But the weight adds up fast and I understand that they include stems, roots, and any dirt still clinging, whatever they can get.

Some of my anger comes from the state taking my property. They did not even offer to compensate me for any loss and I had to destroy those healthy, nice looking plants on the states whim.

Anyway, I made it sound like I was up to nefarious things, but I only meant that I may have personal use drugs at times, and I would not need a distribution charge for the quantity of salvia I was growing.

I've been waiting to buy my own salvia the day I turned 18. Yesterday I turned 18, went to the head shop, and found it was outlawed. FML.

Eh...salvia's not that great as far as psychedelics go (personal opinion).
I'd look for some LSD instead (although it's nearly impossible in Ohio right now...dammit).
There are plenty of shrooms goin around right now though.

i was actually surprised that it wasn't illegal from the get go. b/c it's effects are way stronger than what weed could ever be. it's funny that something like weed is illegal but salvia isn't.

    You think that's bad?
In Oklahoma, possession of salvia is considered a class I felony (a felony!), and can get you 10 YEARS in prison....
    wtf.

your wierd man. but i feel your sentiments. Alcohol is killing SO many people all the time. Its ruining families. Salvia is in no way dangerous and in my opinion not to amazing. I wish theyd just leave it alone. Its harmless.
