There will always be a counter protest on these idiots, just get a bunch of friends together, make signs and/or creative chants, stand on the OTHER side of the street, and do what you must. Fred Phelps makes me SICK! uke:

He was going to go to the UK from a previous schedule... but they said no way.
He has already be banned from canada.
I contacted the Gov. of Nebraska to voice my concern over a appearance they had after the Mall shooting in Omaha.. his response was.. we don't pay any attention to them...total BS

Honestly, if you don't pay attention to them, they will eventually just fizzle out. From what I've heard a bunch of them are lawyers or something like that, so you know they're just hoping someone will violate some right of their's (and who wouldn't want to punch them in the face for some of the things the've said?) I don't know much about them, aside from what I've seen of them online, but I get the feeling that more than 'preaching' they just want attention and a chance at lawsuits.

If you go counter protest you'll just validate what they're doing and give them more cause to keep it going. Think about it, when you're out protesting its always so much more fun when the people you're protesting against makes a big stink of you being there.

If you're going to do anything, I suggest making up your own flyers and signs to, rather than counter-protest, just subvert them. God Hates Figs comes to mind.

 

Fred Phelps should be investigated for pedophilia, as I believe he molests children or has done so in the past. I would love to see him discredited if he is found to be a pedophile, as that would torpedo his claims that "God hates fags".

For Phelps, a strait jacket would be a fashion statement. If I saw him and a dog drowning in a pond, I'd save the dog for the dog won't hate me for being gay.

 

I plan to picket Phelp's funeral and start a website of how many days he's been in hell after he dies just like he did with Matthew Shepherd. I just have to wait until he dies.

When Phelps finally kicks the bucket, I'd be very tempted to salt and burn his remains so he cannot make a supernatural comeback just as Sam and Dean Winchester have done in several episodes of the CW TV show Supernatural. Or piss on his grave.

I hate to sound this way, but if I read in the paper or heard on TV that one of Phelps's female family members was raped, whether by one man or a gang rape, I would not feel any pity for that female family member of Fred Phelps because I would feel that the bitch had it coming. I would tell them that their bad karma comes around to bite them in the ass. You play with fire and you're going to get burned. After all, they had no pity for Matt Shepard or his family after he was crucified on that fence in Wyoming. In fact, if such an event happened to the Phelps family, I would start a legal defense fund for the accused raper(s) because I would feel that he/they didn't really commit rape because the victim has to be an actual human being, and the Phelps's are not humans. They're monsters straight out of hell itself.

As a gay man, I will not shut up about the Phelps Ku Klux Klan. It is said that silence is golden. But that's not always true. Sometimes silence means approval. Sometimes silence kills. If Jews and their allies had spoken out against Hitler and the Nazi party, maybe the Holocaust would not have happened. Even though most German people didn't really like the Jews, I believe that they had the decency to not advocate the mass murder of Jews.

I see your perspective, but I'm not sure I completely agree here. He had 13 kids, and they aren't all like Shirley Phelps- who is basically a feminized clone of Daddy who needs to learn to shower before she goes on TV. While most of them can rot in Hell for all I care, there are a few of them that I feel sorry for. I did some research into the family when they came to my school to harass us, and I seem to remember reading that one or two of his kids supposedly have mental illnesses, so he's probably just manipulating them. Also, four of his kids have disowned him. In fact, a couple years ago, Nate Phelps spoke out against him. So they're not all like him.

 

Well, I should have specified that I would have that attitude against any Phelpses who are still loyal to Fred. The family members who have disowned Fred Phelps have my blessings and hopefully also have God's blessings for seeing the light and leaving that satanic family.

The bible may have its problems, but it sure is hell is not what Fred Phelps makes it out to me. Phelps seems to have ignored that inconvient little verse in John:

"Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." 1 John 3:15

So by their own bible, the members of the Westboro baptist church are going to hell.

 

I'm guessing like most things in the bible old Fred looks at that passage and takes it literally, as in not his fellow man but his actual brother if he has one.

I've always found it interesting that for all the genocide and hate that is preached in the old testament it's not until Jesus tender and mild shows up that the concept of eternal life(death?) in hell is introduced.

 

The original word used there (I'm sorry, but I don't remember the exact word) actually does mean fellow man, and it was translated to brother. But, of course, Phelps is an idiot, so he probably does misinterpret that.

May I point out a couple of things?
1) Baptist is the correct spelling.
2) For God so loved the world (thats everybody)that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. So God loves "The World" so much He was willing for His Son to die for it.
3) I think every Fundamental Christian in America expects to be placed in prison or prison camps for opposing homosexuality , the One World Order, and for supporting Bible morals.
4) Freedom of Speech is Mine and Yours, but trash and disrespect is wrong.
