I don't understand the twist and rip method like AT ALL. Does some one have like a guide for it I'd like to try that on some of my dreads that fell out.

http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=233383&f=209 lots of answers here just have to browse, or use search feature http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=351755&f=209 info bout all methods and overall useful post ps. for washing just try and keep your fingers together so that you don't run your fingers through your hair clumping is the first step in dreading naturally sure use a towel. Or air dry. whatever. Go outside and let the sun/wind dry it, that's good for tangling too.
i started mine 3 weeks ago, when i shower, i just wash my hair with out running my fingers through my hair, i dont wear anything at night over my hair when i sleep. hope that helps you.
Diton, I am no expert on the natural route so I won't go there. But, it just seems like you are worried about how they're gonna look a bit too much for someone who wants to get locks. Maybe I phrased that wrong...How would you like them to look? how bout in 5 years? Those are good questions to figure out which method you should use. If you want uniform, chord-like locks that you want to get rid of within the year, i'd say twist and rip and wax the motherfuckers. did i just say wax? anyways if you want to cause as little damage as possible to your hair, i wouldn't twist and rip. i found a lot of broken hair on my sink when i tried this on some of my locks. if you have a bit of patience and you want to keep your locks for a long time, try the backcombed method and no wax! if you have a lotta patience and want to keep your locks passed death, neglect. As far as washing. Wash them now! Wash them whenever! and if you're worried about them falling apart, wear a stocking cap in the shower. I'm sick of hearing the excuse that locks will fall apart is you wash them too soon. Yes, they will fall apart regardless, so wash your nasty rats nest!
nah I wouldn't use that shampoo, it's got all the nasty chemical ingredients as other shampoos. Until you get Dr. B's why don't you try a baking soda and water wash?
you can use a towel, try not to sleep on them wet, some people have had mold develop this way, I would assume they don't toss and turn like some of us lol I've slept on them wet a few times and they're fine, no mold, and totally dry in the morning
your shampoo should be residue free from the get-go, your hair will dread MUCH faster because it's not slip out on itself from all the smooth shit that's clinging to each hair
It's up to you. I alternate Dr. B's with baking soda they both do a good job. It depends on if you're a "use no shampoo at all" person or a "use a residue free natural shampoo" person. Does that make sense? Plus some people have trouble with Dr. Bronner's, sometimes it reacts with your water in a funny way?
