Does putting your hair in a ponytail harm baby dreads?

    haha, such a short thread.

its hard to damage dreads, just dont put chemicals in them or rubber bands, you should be ok after that

Only thing i've ever found damaging about a pony tail, is if you use your own locks to tie them up, don't use the same ones over and over. Where they form the knot they get kinda fucked up. 2 of mine broke off from doing that.

Thats odd. Ours are around the same age (I think) and I never had any even come close to breaking. I always use the same 2

For me they're long enough that I still have enough extra length that the scalp doesnt pull

The ones I used were fairly thin locks, also, I have very coarse brittle hair.

A ponytail won't damage your locks but I found when my locks were new and short, using a ponytail all the time kinda gave them a sorta 'curve'.
