You do have ginger coloured hair. And you were mocking there physical appearance so I decided to mock yours. If you don't even like metal, don't bother posting in this thread. This thread was made with the intention for us to discuss metal and not derail the other threads we were posting in before. It wasn't intended for people to just come in here posting pictures and laughing at bands people we admire.
When did I mock their physical appearance... oh the photo I posted. Well, I was mocking their choice on appearance, I don't choose to be skinny nor choose to have what you seem to think is ginger colored hair. They choose to look like retards, I unfortunately was not given a choice. This is the metal debates thread correct? not metal appreciation thread. I do happen to like metal, I just don't happen to like CoF. You are entitled to your opinion as am I. If you don't like me "laughing at bands people we admire" then get over it because I'm being real. You admire "real" people don't you Pat? Or do you just admire people who are "real" when their opinion reflects your own?
i have both redhair and freckles, and my dad can beatup your dad , and my car is faster than yours, sounds like my kids must hAve found hipforums... oh and pantera is the greatest band there ever was ever is and ever will be
Dimebag was the greatest guitarist of all time. Well for me it's a split tie between him and Hendrix. But I'd have to say the greatest Band of all time would be Led Zeppelin. Greatest Metal band would be Panter or AILD.
not by a long shot Funny how dimebag suddenly got the best guitarist of all time title after being shot. There are tons of people who could school him
Metal is so diverse that a metalhead most likely doesn't like everything that is called metal. Too bad they always feel the need to bash the metal they don't like instead of just ignore that stuff. I also think bands like Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth have changed for the worse but the old stuff is still admirable. Perhaps if you're into industrial metal as well you can still dig a band like Dimmu Borgir and CoF if the gothic style appeals to you as well. I solely digged those bands for the atmospheric black metal sounds though. Yeah, this thread shows exactly how openminded metalheads are
Well, I'm not a fan of the overrated term at all. It's all very personal and stuff. But in the case of Dimebag it's kind of disturbing how he's being idolized after his death. If he was that great why wasn't he that popular before he was killed on stage.
iggy: suddenly he became a commercial icon. cool white kids that had never listened to the music a day in their lives suddenly have RIP DIMEBAG shirts, hats, bags, socks, action figures, necklaces, wall tapestries, stickers, notebooks, guitar straps, lanyards, peace pipes, beer mugs, cat food, etc. he was the shit. but wasn't the best guitarist of all time.
Yeah there really is no greatest guitarist of all time. Hendrix was awesome at improving pretty much. When he messed up he could make it sound good. And Dimebag, there's a million people who can play just like him.
never said he was the greatest, just my favorite, and i was down with pantera since cfh was released not after the horrible death. so i am no johny come lately.. seen them many times in small clubs, way better shows than the big stadium events, more personal, and better pits, cant jump in anymore, to old, but it was fun 15 yrs ago, and alas, my first mosh pit experience was at a Prong show in a club the size of a closet, prong was a very under rated metal band, and even suicidal tendencys were bad ass at a point, im a very open metal head, dont like all of it, and i like other music than metal. i like more of a power groove than i do just screaming or growling, but thats just me. and we cant forget sepultura, badd ass stuff when they still had Max and a newer band i enjoy is 5 finger death punch
I don't really like ffdp. Their lyrics suck pretty bad =\. But I'm an open minded too. I like pretty much all types of music cept country. But recently i've been listening to reggae. Like Wyclef Jean, and like all the Marley's. I've also been listening to alot of Pink Floyd too for some reason. I wasn't really aloud to listen to Pantera much because while he was a live I was only like 11. I didn't even know he was dead when I started listening to Pantera though. I think the greatest new band is As I Lay Dying though. And COB not really new but not really that old either.
Bodom used to rule. Follow the Reaper and Hatebreeder are absolute classics. Something wild is good. Hate crew death roll seems like they ran out of good ideas and riffs half way through. Everything after that is pretty crappy
the thing about dimebag... he is a great guitarist but most people have the "if you died tragically you must be the greatest syndrome", thats also why decent musicians who died tragically are now idolized... Lordi has some decent songs... even if it is a joke that wont end... and almost a copy of kiss since it sound more like hard rock than metal also like kalmah... alot... and soilwork... but usually I prefer the older metal more to my taste like motorhead
