Is there really a roxycottin or is it all generic oxycodone??

Hello all, I am new to this site and just had a question I thought I would put out there about why they call roxy roxys when every bottle ive ever seen says oxy?? Oh yeah could anyone help me out on how to use a custom avatar?

 

roxy is instant release, so you dont need to grind, you can just pop

 

So Roxys and oxycodone 30mg are not the same thing?

 

they both contain 30mg of oxycodone,
the oxyCONTIN has to be ground up because it slowly releases the drug over 6 hours
the ROXIcontin can be taken whole because it is a instant release drug

OK, I'm confused. I was looking in the Opiates section and it said this thread got moved from there to here. WHY? Oxycodone is an opiate.

Seems weird for an opiate thread to be moved out of the opiate forum while a DXM thread took longer to be moved out of the Other Drugs forum into Pharms.

Someone care to explain? Not trying to start shit with any mods, jsut found it odd that this new guy knew to post in the right forum and then got his thread moved to here.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think there is a 30 mg Oxy extended release (ER). I think the 30mg form of oxycontin is immediate release (IR). The only dosage where the two types overlap is 5mg. The 15mg Oxy is IR only too, isn't it?

 

Because when they say opiates they are refering to heroin, poppy plants, and opium. Oxycodone is a PHARMECUTICAL so they moved it because it is more fitting in a forum about pills and other pharms.

 

Oxycodone comes in instant-release form (Percocet, Roxicodone, OxyIR, etc.) and controlled-release form (Oxycontin). Oxycontin simply refers to the controlled-release form of Oxycodone.

 

Well if the case is that oxycodone is a pharm, then by logic every thread about hydrocodone and every other pharm opiate should be moved to here. Let the forum flooding begin!

 

My mistake, I misspoke. I should have said that oxycodone IR comes in 5, 15 and 30 mg doses, while oxycodone ER comes in 5, 10, 20, 40 and 80 mg doses. I just got confused, which is fairly easy when I am addled on the stuff. I am just trying to learn to be in a better position when I talk to my doctors.
