haha, I always do that..I think I prefer dreads just being dreads mainly without an overload of beads and wraps. I spent ages on a wrap the other night and when it was done decided I didn't like it and it took so long to get out! I iz sille :p

Mebe xD I know that someone on the dreadscan thread had plaits and I was like ZOMG stolen xD forgotted who it was :(

Eeeyea, I'm hoping in a year or so they'll turn into mini dreads :) I read (when I was researching dreads) that if you plait your hair in sections they'll turn into dreads after a year or something xD

ohh yes I remember seeing that *pretty* any plaits that I've made have just got sucked into a nearby dread..but you can still see a lil but of the braid peaking out.

yeah they were washed yesterday.. they need it again today - i had a horrible night and woke up all sweaty and gross ='[

re the bicarb, i get a jug, put in bicarb (i have no idea how much... 50g or something?), put in a few drops of tea tree, and then put in about 500ml hot water, mix it, pour it on my head bit by bit =]

tbh im not ganna use it anymore i think, dries out my scalp lots and makes it feel scabby, but i dont think it is scabby =/

dragon.. the lizards are sooooooooo hard to make, but i think callie wants one too, so i shall make some more. any particular colours you want? im ganna try some vertical ones too..

yeah thats what i was like. spent ages puttin them all in, and then decided it was waaayyy OTT, and took them all out =D also took out a couple of wraps =/

andandand! my mate sam plaited his hair, and maybe about a year later they became dreadies, but i think he backcombed the plaits slightly, i cannae remember. either way, his locks are feckin awesome.

Thanks for the wash Smelly. Are you feeling better today?

Thanks for the wash... I am still struggling with scalp goo and build up and the only thing that seems to have worked a bit is the bicarb. I think with some tea tree oil, hopefully it will clear it all out. I can't believe more people do not have troubles with this. :(

not really tbh, but thats cause i had a shitty nights sleep.

the kboy seems to leave a bit of residue, but im not fussed about that. it cleans my scalp and it feels good and smells luuuuuuuurvely. i dont get head cheese as much anymore, but today ive got slight flakies =/

the bicarb just makes my scalp feel bitty.. not fully cleann

Hey...I have the same problem with buildup. Right after I wash it seems to go away but after a day it comes back. I've been alternating Dr. Bronners with a bicarb/tea tree mix and also a Kiss My Face bar. I think the Kiss my Face soap bar works the best. Bicarb/tea tree does seem to leave grittyness.

glad its not only me who gets bittygrittyickyness =]

i was ganna buy a bronners bar to try, and then alternate that with the kboy (currently i alternate kboy and bicarb)

    I love your hair smelly!!

So.... what does bitty mean? Gritty? I have used the bicarb wash a few times now and I feel no grittiness... but I have headcheese and flakies, but the itchiness has gone.

Hubby refuses to look at my scalp now and help diagnose what's going on up there, so I have to wait for my sis to come here on Sunday to help me figure it out. I wish I could see after using the bicarb/acv rinse if the flakies disappear and then reappear.. but since hubby is being a douche.... well... ya.

    bitty is gritty, yessm.

have you ever bleached your hair? cause whenever id bleach mine, my scalp would get lil lumpy bits, that felt like grit.. its like that =/

Dreadilicious!! Very nice! You can see the matting now on some of them through the pics. Very cool. And in response to the bleaching bit, yup, I have bleached my hair, but do not really remember any bumps... it was over 10 years ago. But I think I get what you are saying.

Those are doing very nicely! I'm a big fan of the backcombing method.
