I'm not sure if this is against forum rules or not, but... Post some information about your neighborhood, include google maps street view or add some pictures of interesting locations. I'll go first: Morris Park: Street View http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morris_Park,_Bronx There are pizza shops all over the place... some of the best pizza in the world. I like how my neighborhood still has mom and pop shops... I get a bit annoyed whenever I see a big chain store open up, but I do what I can to support the little guy. I always stop by Emilio's Pizza for a slice, or sit down for dinner at Patricia's. Out of them all, I'd say that Golden Eagle is my favorite place to eat. I just love diners, and this one is very comfortable, friendly, and good food. Great little park just a few blocks from my apartment. Nice place to just enjoy the ambiance around you. Very friendly people... but honestly, there are some pretty racist Italians and I think that they try their best to rent to Italians only... But ya, other than the racists, it's a pretty chilled area. Let's hear about your neighborhood! *waits patiently for stalker jokes*
It's ghetto. I live on a one way which cuts down traffic, thankfully. I live between 3 convenience stations and 3 liquor stores almost perfectly set up to be walkable from just about any part of the area. People fight and shout out in the street on a damn near daily basis. Gun shots are heard about once every week or two. Police don't even come down my street. I think that covers it.
Nothing wrong with ghetto, but yeah, gunshots are never good... lol My neighborhood isn't too far away from it being ghetto, just move up the block far enough and you'll see. My neighborhood is in the middle of it all. (I'll BBL)
We just moved to a really nice area. It's green and pretty, lots of nice old cottages, parks and there's also a big forest nearby. Shops are in walking distance. And it's nice and quiet, all I can hear is birds singing. It's lovely. Totally different to the area we used to live in.
i dont live anywhere near a "neighborhood" and there certainly isnt a google street view anywhere near where i live. my back yard, http://www.conasaugariver.net/resource/wilderns.html if you find douglas mountain on this map, http://www.fs.fed.us/conf/maps/conasauga-east.pdf that is where we live..
How Totally Cool Was That.. Here I Am, Sitting In My Living Room In Australia, And You Have Just Shown Me Where You Live, On The Other Side Of The Globe. Todays Technology Rocks... No Point Me Putting Up My Street View, Because The Camera Only Came As Close As The Edge Of The Farm, On Two Sides, And I Live In The Middle. However, Tomorrow I Will Endevour To See If I Can Get A U.R.L Of My Place From Google Earth. The Resolution From G.E.In Rural Areas Is Not As Good As That Of Capital Cities, But Still Works Reasonably Well. Cheers Glen.
I live on a side street off of a kind of busy high way. Right next to a play ground and some base ball fields. It's a pretty quiet residential street. my life is boring.
I live in the suburbs. Walking distance to three different playgrounds, close enough to shopping centers. Very friendly neighbors. Nice area, no problems. Well, except when a drunk driver crashed through our fenced in yard and went out the other side, left the scene, police couldn't locate the bastard and now we have a f***ed up fence that we need to repair with money from our own pocket. Not putting it on our home owner's insurance because the damage estimate wasn't worth it. Other than that though, no real complaints. Oh, except people tend to drive way too fast down our street. Speed limit is 25, most people going at least 10 over, usually more. Thank goodness our backyard is fenced in or else I'd be even more worried about the kids when they're out playing because all it would take it someone to trip and fall when someone comes flying down the street. *shudders*

When I was a kid, about 8 or 9, I used to yell at cars that were speeding, "For cryin' out loud, this is a neighborhood! Slow down, you idiot!" Haha, yeah...I was a feisty kid.

Oh, I've done that. I've yelled at speeding cars, and so has J. I'm just afraid for the kids! There are a lot of young children around our area. In fact, one day our neighbor ran out to her car to get something and her 2 year old son was on the porch. All of a sudden, I happen to look over and there he is, standing right in the middle of the street. I screamed to J to grab him because he was closer, and he ran out into the street and picked the little boy up. His mother freaked out, she said she had only been gone for a minute, couldn't believe how fast he had gotten off the porch. I was just glad he was okay.
we are known for the anti busing back in the 70s...forced bussing brought black kids into southie and white kids to black neighborhoods. very violent and shouldn't have happened. forced bussing just fucked things up more plenty of films in and around the area - good will hunting, the boondock saints, southie, the departed, and some others... dropkick murphy's reference southie quite a bit in there songs we have what is thought to be the first vietnam memorial at M St Park (Independence Park), it predates the one in DC by 13 months. this is the park i go to when i take my dog out. we have plenty of pizza/sub shops.
I'm in a small town in woop woop. I'm about an hour from any where. The bp charges way too much for petrol.
yeah, google earth is all up in people business..I looked at my friends house on there and I was sitting out front..I think it is an invasion
