for like the 10th time.. lol
    I need some support lol..
I'm not good at this shit lol.. I'm such a bitch every time I quit but the fact that I really need to for my healths sake gives me motivation.. atleast we have a nice amount of bud.. I'm just gonna stay nice and high through this and hopefully this will be my last attempt at this..
I hate cigarettes.. I wish I never started..

what's fucked up is I only started smoking cigarettes when I was 21 (smoked weed at 15) and the only reason I did is cuz I had found out that my now ex husband was cheating and we had no weed no liqour no nothing and I was having a panic attack and needed to chill so I grabbed a cigarette and sure a shit it did the trick.. eeerrrr lol evil little things lol..

I smoked a bit as a teen but was never addicted. So my quitting involved just not doing that anymore.

I would hate to quit if I didn't want to... I only keep smoking because I live for today. ;) Who really knows if there is a tomorrow?

You sound very much like myself. I started smoking weed at 17 and cigars at 20(I inhaled them). I quit on the 8th of last month. Took about 3 days, really. I just rolled a joint every time I wanted to smoke tobacco. And after 3 days I was tired of smoking so many joints too, so I started to cut back.

That was about the end of it for me. Haven't looked back.

Good luck to you. Just ask yourself "Why?", any time you find yourself wanting one. You'll be fine. :cheers2:

When I quit I went to mcdonalds and got one of those fat guy straws they put in there drinks, you know the wide ones, then I cut it to the size of a butt and carried it with me and when I felt the urge to smoke, or if others were smoking I would pull it out and hold it like a butt and even take drags of air, going through the motions really helped out. I bet if you put cotton in one end it would pull more like a real stogey

using weed as a replacement for the first little while really helps, because you're going through the motions, you're putting smoke in your lungs, but you're allowing yourself to detox from the nicotine.

i always felt the psychological addiction was way worse for me than the physical addiction. i sometimes still after almost 2 years of being mostly quit will buy a pack simply because i miss the vice of having cigs. but then i smoke one and remember how nasty they are and feel sick.

i also kept a running track of what day without cigs i was on, and kept remembering how hard it was to get through those days, so if i cheated and had one, i'd have to start counting all over again. and that was pretty strong motivation, lol!

good luck... it's hard, but i know you can do it. :)

It's a good thing that you are trying to quit, I've known people who have smoked all their life and now have lung and respiratory problems because of it.

I quit smoking in January 2008 after having smoked for 7 years. It can be hard, but it's about will power and support. I found that online forums with other people who were quitting or had quit really helped me - just talking to someone that knew and gave support.

Don't drink coffee, alcohol or a lot of sodas - they are all triggers. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits and go exercising as much as you can. It all really helps. Running helped me. It was rewarding to feel me being able to breathe and exercise better each time. Keep your hands and mouth occupied with something, whether it be a pen, a straw, candy or toothpick.

When I quit, I had a problem with my tongue. It really lacked something when I first quit, I suppose the taste of nicotine, but it was really bothersome to not have that certain taste when I needed it. Whenever I had a craving, I would take a shot of pure lemon juice. It helped every time. I don't know if it will for anyone else though. I also drank nothing but lemon water or the Lipton's Green Tea with Citrus - after a year and a half I'm now addicted to the Green Tea.

Just count the days. Each minute, hour, day, week, etc is progress, and you don't want to do anything that will have you ruin all your hard work and put you back at the beginning. The thought of the disappointment by lighting a smoke, letting myself down, really kept me from picking another one up. I would even wake up crying from dreams that I smoked a cigarette and let myself down after all the hard work. I can definitely say I feel much better, am rarely sick now (compared to sick all the time when smoking), I'm more active, more confident and enjoy life better without having to depend on nicotine.

You can do it. Anybody can, you just have to make it easier on yourself and have the will. Just think, after the first 3 days, your body is nicotine free and by day 5 you almost fully regain your sense of smell and taste.

Good luck lady. I've recently started to quit too. I get super cranky super easy now. Its not fun. I can't replace it with anything because I've got a little kid around all the time now so I have to be responsible and shit.

Its no fun. Hope it goes ok.
