So I am a freak about the government controlling me and my shit so I was just wondering, how do i go about NEVER paying taxes and NEVER having a real society job (i.e. fine with under-the-table jobs like farming or selling food i grow)???? What do you mean by controlling you? How is your shit controlled? Too late...you paid tax on that bratwurst you're belching up now! Only way is to live outside society. Ready for that?? Shrooms, Don't know if I can tell you how to get out of a real job and paying taxes but I'll give some input. The not paying taxes is pretty easy - don't ever make any money. And I guess if you never have a real job you will avoid ever having enough money to pay taxes (I'm assuming that you don't intend to try and beat the odds and try something illegal - but, prison life also affords the no tax/no job option - but you give up so very much by going that route!) The question you have to ask yourself is; do I really want to be broke my entire life? There is no magic answer that will provide you both a life free of a job and the money/security you want/need to live. Society has evolved to the point where the romantic notion of the pioneer forging his own way in the wilderness is just not practical for most people. One must keep in mind that even in pre-industrial days very few people were isolated loners. They lived in tribes, clans and communities for mutual support and comfort. And they worked hard to survive. In my opinion, the only way you can get some sense of independence from the "modern society" is to find you way into a community of folk living a simpler life. But, the work is hard. And to survive with just your own efforts in this society is virtually impossible to do without some input of cash (even if you own your land, there's still the property taxes to be paid!)(and perhaps you would like to have a computer and internet service? and some store bought shoes...). Anyway, I think the best you can do is to not exert so much negative energy trying to resist the course of society, but instead simply yield in non-resistance and try to flow into a place of peace within the mad current of the society you are in. In other words, spend your time and energy not on trying to escape, but in trying to find the place you know is you. You said you might like to do some farming and selling some of your own produce. Have you looked at the Intentional Communities web site? (ic.org) They have a large listing of communities all over the world full of people just like yourself who just want to live a simpler life. Maybe you can find something there. Best of luck - and remember; Peace flows from within - if you are not at peace, look inward and try to hear what your intuition whispers to you. (PS- If it's the life of a vagabond you desire instead of farming/community, I would suggest you become an expert at a practical trade so you can barter your way around from place to place. Something like auto mechanics would be good for that maybe - good luck young friend!)
