What it is everybody, I hear some people say sleeping with your locks covered are great for keeping frizzes away, but i also hear sleeping without them is great for helping them tighten. Keep in mind i have african hair, and normally wear a doo-rag at night. I notice that when i keep them covered when i wake up in the morning they are practically plastered to my skull. They are still short being only 3 weeks old, so any opinions on which method is best? Perhaps sleeping on a satin pillow helps tighten them but also keeps the lint out?
I cut a sleeve off one of my long sleeve t's. It's really tight on my head and when I wake up I've got a dread helmet also. A couple good shakes of the head and it's all back to normal. I've found it has been working wonders on my roots and keeps frizzys down a lot. I started doing this a few weeks ago and my dreads have never looked better. I used to wear a wool beanie but I feel that was actually making frizzys worse.
I see, so in your experience keeping them covered has actually helped the process, not hindered it? Keep in mind though mine are likely much shorter then yours in their life cycle.
If I sleep without a cap on my dreads are greasier and more frizzy when I wake up. My locks are only 10 months old but I get people that ask if I cut them assuming they are much older.
why bother, sleep is where the progress is at...i just throw mine over the pillow in the start to get them outta my face, later on i dont mind
when they were new I slept with a wool hat on cause it stopped loose hairs from falling out (something I have very little about at this point ) and cause it helped the hair dread up from rubbing on the wool all night.
i kept mine in a tam the first couple months cuz they were loose and mega frizzy....now at 7 months i just sleep with em down and free....theyre still super frizzy but i just dont care anymore! its gettin too hot to wear tams!
