tonight I decided to rip a congo that was forming right beside my ear. I don't mind if my hair congos or not I just want it to be comfortable and this one was beginning to fuck me off and stuck out awkwardly.
So I had some wine and started to rip. It hurt my hands like crazy it was so tightly knotted so I did it slowly, until it loosened up and I could do it in one full rip. It was soo sore, but I kind of like the pain it's almost orgasmic. I was dying to get it sorted but didn't realli belive I would as it was so tight.
Anyway, so for whatever reason there seems to be a slight bald patch where I ripped. I feel like a fucking weirdo even writing this, why did this happen, whats wrong with me? I took some (hideous) pics. I don't realli care as I know it will grow back and you can't see it as they other dreads cover it whether it's up or down. I just want to understand why it happenend?!

    just before ripping:

is it possible that when you ripped the congo it pulled on the base of your hair weird and pulled hair out of your scalp? the hair would more than likely still be attached to one of your dreads, but not necessarily your scalp...

i have no clue if that's what happened or not, but it's just a thought...you did say it hurt a lot, was it that exact area?

uh...i dunno...like i said, these are just thoughts and nothing else :)

In the first two pics your hair is down, but in the baldy pic your hair is up. Do you have any pics of holding the congoed hair up prior to the big rip?

And for what it's worth I think they are just baby hairs that have not made it into the dread yet. Themz look cute!

i couldn't help but lol @ "after as a bald freak". i'm thinking it's just where baby hairs are. i wonder what they would've looked like before had you lifted them as you did in the "after" pic.

aww lux you are fine love. it just looks baldy because the bebe hairs got sucked into the huge congo. so it looks sparse around the dread. but don't worry it's normal and you're not a freak. or at least not a bald one :D

on a brighter note..it really wont matter in a few weeks...and u cant see the bald spot unless u walk around holding half ur dreads up. Chill.

    QFT.

If that pic is what you call balding then I have been bald my whole life. I can't even begin to figure out what it is about the thing you are showing us that is not normal, especially for that part of the head where the hairs are a lot more like the thin baby hairs that grow around the hair line.

Woah.... Put down the wine glass luxiebow...lol

It just sounds like you had tooooo much wine, and got a little crazy and decided to do some impromptu drunken dread critiquing...
And blam, after you know it, you have a congo that you went overboard on, and ripped that poor thing almost straight out of your head...lol
