I really sympathize with all beings. I want to dedicate my life to music, botany, and helping them. Aside from the obvious, what can I do?
Ninety-seven percent of all charitable giving goes to support human causes. The remaining three percent is split evenly between our pets and the whole of non-human nature. IUCN is the world's oldest and largest global environmental network. www.iucn.org
Go on a working holiday at an animal retreat centre- http://www.retreatanimalrescue.org.uk/volunteering.html im heading here in the summer for a few weeks
Another way to help is to support ethical companies. Research the products you buy and find out what their companies are up to. I recently stopped drinking Silk brand soymilk after I discovered that it is made by Whitewave Foods, who in turn is owned by Dean Foods. Dean just so happens to be one of the largest dairy companies in the world. Silk is so cheap because #1: it is made on the equipment they already have for making milk, and #2 the leftover okara from making milk is than fed to the cows that I became a vegan to avoid harming in the first place. In short, do research and make sure you are supporting a company that deserves to be supported.
I don't have a lot of time on my hands, and I don't have a lot of money. I've already adopted 5 animals, 7 if you count aquatic turtles. I love them. 2 of them were from the pound, 4 were from a shelter, and 1 was a barn cat. They have a life here, better than any life they could've had because I have friends for them, a place to play, and love to support them. Beyond adopting more animals, spending more money, taking loads more time, right now, what is something I can do every day that will help the animals of the world?
well i must say good job hazel field! thats more than most people do, but if you want something more to do i would volunteer at a humane society, im sure they would love the help. or maybe just donate some money there. im sure if you look, you can find a way to help an animal in need. good luck honey
The best thing you can do is receive training.. most likely through post-secondary education.. like getting a degree.. then in cases such as the BP oil spill, people will actually need your education for volunteer work.. Right now they don't need any more unqualified volunteers down there.. The key is getting qualified for the job
