I realized today why raising animals for meat is WRONG. My parents have a farm in which they let my niece keeps her pigs for a local 4-H program. Today my uncle showed up and literally cut the testicles out of one of the pigs, the reason being, apparently in order to "show animals and sell them to market" this must be done. All that was done to help the animal was a splash of iodine. They let him go and he ran around through the mud, getting dirt all over the wound. I asked why they didn't stitch the wound or seperate him from the others, i was told "he'll be fine, worst thing that can happen is the others will feed on the wound." fucking inbred rednecks like this don't appreciate nature whatsoever, this animal is being raised for money and food, that's it. this is horrible and yet, accepted by my family and my community, i'm thinking about releasing all of the pigs out of there 20x20ft cage into our 300 acre field. iggy:
Intensive pig breeding on an indoor basis is very harsh, especially considering how intelligent pigs are. BUT... I hope you can accept that if you let them out, your field will in about a week turn into a mire of pure mud, as the pigs natural way of feeding is basically....ploughing!
