At a folk festival a couple of weeks ago, a friend, my brother and I decided to take acid. We'd done it before, at the festival a year earlier and had enjoyed our trip immensely. I picked up 3 Ohms and 1 Felix from a friend who had spare tabs. One of our crew dropped out, so we divided up the felix into 3, and each of us took an ohm and a 1/3 of a felix. After taking it, we smoked a large blunt. Well it started off well, unable to tell when the acid came on because we were so stoned, but soon, my brother started to get really negative. Knowing it was just the trip I delt with it, and we went to a secluded place to calm down. I started to realise now that the dose was much much higher than last year and that I was really tripping out. We got into my car, and sat there, just tripping. Anyway, I kept getting higher, but my brother was on a different level. He went silent, and when we relocated into a tent, didn't talk to anyone, just sat silently. Whenever I asked how he was, he mumbled something, but returned to silence. Some time later, probably a couple of hours, he completly lost it. He wouldn't respond to his name, would just repeat anything you said to him back to you in a monotone, and couldn't even stand up. He had no balance or composition, and seemed to have zero awareness of what was going on around him. I'm his very close brother, and he didn't particularly recognize me. He then broke down and started crying and thrashing about, and he was too out of it to even talk him down. There was no way to communicate with him at all. At about T+4 hours he came out of it, was still very high, but was responsive and was tripping in a similar way to me and my other mate who took the acid. My question is, why did he get so high? We all took the same dose. The ohms were from the same batch. Is it possible the tab he took had a much higher dose of lsd in it? or is he more susceptible to the drug? Is it dangerous that he had this strong a reaction, when the others on the drug were able to function? I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I'm just concerned about my brother and just want to assess why he had such an intense experience.
just my personal opinion... if he ever decides to do it again, make sure it's a smaller or equal dose, don't go above a dose unless you're comfortable with it. and obviously comfort was not so much what he ended up with, eh. idk, i would say that it's probably a combination of factors, but it's always such a personal experience with lucy.. it may be that he got the magic square, it may be that he just wasn't ready for that dose. it may also be that there was something in his mind that just didn't agree with his surroundings.. really in my opinion raising a level of lucy shouldn't be done in intense settings unless you're really familiar with tripping, but that really is just me. but it's hard to say sometimes why people have the trips they do, but unless he physically caused harm to himself, he should be perfectly fine. most people are okay after a bad trip, it just takes a little time to chill out and recover from it.
How does your brother perceive the experience? What did he think about it, if he remembers it? I'm just curious because there's been a few times where I was tripping a lot and didn't want to talk, but was fine. Of course, thrashing around and crying isn't the best sign...
sometime there's an emotion that we haven't fully felt and seen. acid can easily "force" a person to feel that emotion in its entirety. If he said it was cathartic and felt better after the trip, this could be the case. either way, his turbulence is not at all unusual when it comes to taking acid and if he seems fine he probably is.
you should have put on some stevie wonder "very superstious" that song always puts me into a great mood...Puttting on good tunes is always a plus
Cheers for the responses guys. Well, he feels it wasn't particularly negative, for him it was a dream state and he wasn't aware he was awake. When I questioned him about the crying, he says he doesn't remember it, and feels the trip was just an intense experience. After your responses I've thought about it, there were definitely people and actions that lead to our negative trip. For one, there were some people around who we didn't like, one guy who was passively aggressive and very negative, and, if I was in a different state, I probably would have hit. Also, there was a huge fight near us right in the middle of my brothers experience. It involved huge amounts of security and screaming jocks. That definitely fucked up my brother more. And i've heard what people say about changing the environment or music and so on. Problem was, I was way too out of it myself to change his environment effectively. We were at a campsite and had no real way of getting his flailing, drunken body anywhere else. We had no access to music, or really anything that could've turned around his trip, which in hindsight was a big negative. Also failed to have someone around us who was sober and reassuring, which probably would've been a good idea, considering we were doing a higher dose than previously. I guess these are just things to remember for next time.
I have a couple of thoughts about this. Of the people i know, including myself, who have had the felix's, assuming they are from the same source as yours, most have reported a lot of tension between the people in the group bordering on a bad trip. And this has been from very experienced trippers. Maybe because the felix's are so strong or maybe they as someone i know has mentioned that it may not be "lsd" but an analogue with similar but different properties. Also these things happen. I have seen it happen to people i have tripped with and i know other people who trip a lot have seen it with people they know. Acid can fuck you up. By the way are you in australia coz both the ohms and felix's have been going round here the last little while.
Yeah I am, down in Canberra. I also heard alot about the Felix's strength, but we only took a 1/3 of the Felix, but took a whole ohms, so i assume it was the ohms that fucked us up. But yeah it definitly wasn't as fun a trip as my last one. Last time i recall more trippy visions and more laughter. This time it was ust mind fuck, not alot of trip.
Heres One Main Thing You Need Too Think About!!!. You Guys Decided Too Take A Tab Up And Divide It Up In 3 ,correct? Its Very Possible All The The Actualt Chemicical Was In His Piece.when Someones Drops The Liquid Onto The Paper, theres No Guarantee How Much Of The Actual Drug Is In Which Place.he Might Of Got All Of The Tab Or Most Of It Whie You Guys Ha Barely Any,or A Very Small Amount. Thats The Only Thing I Dont Find Is Safe Too Do.what If The Guy With The Dropper Slipped And The Whole Drop Went Into One Corner And The Rest Was Just Paper, get My Drift.
Sheets are dipped into a tray of acid not dropped onto each tab individually. The coverage is usually pretty accurate. And the felix's are so concentrated that most people have been splitting them any where from half's down to quarters without any problems or variances in potency.
