like i suggested do a combo... comb out everything backcombing then combing out will dammagew thats true but then a nice lil trim will remove much of the dammage presserving enough length to let it begin to dread naturaly in months not years the more conditiomner u use and the gentler u comb the less dammage will be done
u seem closed minded about the way u want ur dreads. not even accepting suggestions that will save u months of time or even the current set of dreads u have. its not like neglect dreads are any better than back combed dreads or dreads with some wax in them. and in 3 months ur dreads arent even locked up to well yet, they still have months of shrinking and changing. definitely not a wise decision to cut.
well im not close minded i already cut and i know that backcombed dreads are not better or worse than neglect just something i wanted to try
im with you free spirit!!! i just cut a few days ago because my dreads were so waxxy the hair was not going or doing anythign just stuck in place by wax i tried everything to get it out i used a bottle dawn soap which gave me the best results but all that wax was just not coming out. as i combed one out i could see that the core of all my dreads was just wax and i had them for 3 months as well. you know i just figured dreads will take time anyways so it doesnt really matter ha a year from now i iwll be working on them again. i plan to go the neglect/natural route as well. and i was actually looking about how to do that? haha do you really not do anything? or do you need to section it out? also what length to start that at. Well thanks alot guys cutting was not a good idea and i do miss my dreads but its nice to know that i messed up once so hopefully this second time around things will be much better
if u guys are complaining about not seeing ur dreads doing anything when ur only 3 months in, i dont think neglect is ganna be fun for u.
hey im not complaining i just wanted to go the natural route i didnt cut just cuz of wax oh and papas just get some residue free soap like dr.bronners i use it, but some people on here dont so i guess it all depends but good luck
