I read 'The Atrocities of the Pirates' about a year ago. It's pretty short, and a fairly interesting read. It is the true account of a young Englishman who was taken captive by pirates and forced to be a part of the crew. The tale (If I recall) is basically a word-for-word written account of his testimony during the court trial and proceeded once he escaped from the pirates and was then tried on piracy charges. It's not flowery- just a guy's story about what happened to him. I liked it! I think the guy's grandson three generations later was the one to finally publish it.

Got to be the best or at least the one that get's all of us interested in pirates. Robinson Caruso also touches on them but not in a postive way.
