if one decides to quit smoking cigarettes, how does he/she still get drunk and not want a cig? it seems physically impossible in my opinion also, why do people say wine gives you the worst hangovers? I've heard this claim like a million and five times, but in my opinion, wine hangovers are alright. it's the other shit you have to worry about... like bacardi 151 or pina coladas. last but not least, what's your favorite book of all time? I don't read much, but have been these past couple of weeks. I want a really good book to read.
see, it's evil. I hardly smoke cigs anymore, but the minute I'm drunk I turn into a chimney. I wonder if this issue is going to follow me around my whole life. !
I Love My White Wine, Red Wine, And Champagne. Red Wine Makes Me Very Mentaly Creative......Buuuut, Just One Glass Too Many, And There Is This Little Guy In My Head With A Very Big Hammer... White Wine Can Make Me A Bit Argumentive, But No Hangover. Champagne However, I Can Drink Day In Day Out.....No Hangover Just A Continous Smile On My Dial...... Cheers Glen.
yeah Glen you seem to be right on with that. although I must say, white wine gives me worse hangovers than red. what about book suggestions? I really am interested
People who stopped smoking still crave a cig when drinking in general, they just have to hold on. Good luck with that I'm currently reading the books of George R.R. Martin, I just can't stop. It's so awesome  Pretty sure it's not for anyone though
i quit smoking cigs before and lo and behold as soon as i had a drink- i needed a cig. i dont think i can quit smoking cigs unless i quit alcohol and weed first. i can handle not smoking a cig after i smoke weed actually, but it makes me get the munchies more. and i agree that wine hangovers arent as bad as other types.
You just need to come to terms with the desire, I quit smoking and I'm a borderline alcoholic, like the desire for cigarettes is not going to go away, you just have to put up with it
When you give up smoking you get this kind of agitated high feeling, it's sort of good, but you feel very anxious, and when you drink on that you get doubly pissed and this makes you want to take the edge of it by smoking a cigarette again. Too many times I've quit smoking tabs and then started again when i was drinking. I've recently managed to control my addiction to nicotene by instead smoking hashish, much nicer taste and you get a nice high feeling, no lethargy. If been off the bastard things for 2 and a half years now, no thanks to the fascist prohibition laws in the UK. So my suggestion is try smoking a hash pipe when you've just given up ciggies and you fancy a drink, but be careful ,you get really fucking high, and it can send you a bit andy pandy if you drink too much.
Exercise helps too, riding a bike or whatever and realizing you're finally able to actually breathe is an awesome feeling
It is hard. I have been drunk a few times since I stopped smoking and more than ever I want a cig. The only harder thing was to be on oxy and not smoke, that was ridiculous. All about will power though.
Im soooo glad I never picked up smoking. I used to have a cig or two when I was into the nose candy, but I havent done that in a couple years. Im getting a mad craving for it though. tobacco now gives me a headache. Cant do more than 3 drags. I consider it a blessing. I am currently delaying reading the last book in the Alvin Maker series by Orson Scott Card. I have re read the first four books soooooo many times, It is my favorite series ever!! so, I finally got around to buying the last book in the series. I got it about 3 weeks ago, and I just re-read all of them, to remind myself of the story. I finished the 4th book last night. The last book is sitting in front of me, and Im reluctant, since there is no more after this. Champagne gives me the worst hangover ever. I dont drink wine enough to have suffered a hangover. Im a beer girl. and bourbon. and jager. I want an orange in the worst way.
If you decide to quit smoking, the true test of success comes when you decide to have some alcohol. I'd recommend not drinking for at least a month after quitting cigarettes if you find yourself craving them badly immediately after quitting. I tend to get the worst hangovers from tequila or sugary spirits, though I haven't had too many hangovers in the past year. My favorite book of all time? For fiction, the Wheel of Time series. There are so many amazing books out there, fiction and not, that it's difficult for me to name an all time favorite, as all of my favorites have given me great things, but different great things.
Yeah, I would hate to be a slave to the cigs. I understand, I will often take a smoke when I am drinking but it's not something I miss. Then again, I love cigars. Now, let's talk about book suggestions. My first thought is, what do you like to read? Personally, if we are talking favorite books of all time let me list a couple. Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein The Stand by Stephen King Seize the Night by Dean Koontz (there is another book in the series) Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz another favorite that I like, there are several books in this series. The Following is considered the top 10 books by Time Magazine: Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain Hamlet by William Shakespeare The Great Gatsby F. Scott Fitzgerald In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust The Stories of Anton Chekhov by Anton Chekhov Middlemarch by George Eliot Last but not least. The thing that gives people hangovers is not being hydrated enough and the sugar content. The best cure for a hangover is Gatorade.
Just thinking about drinking a lot of red wine gives me a slight headache lol but I like me some white wine I haven't had liquor in a while beside Southern Comfort. It's always beer and beer.Vodka alonepretty much did it to me though.Idk if I can ever drink that shit again.I say that now but i probably will.haha
True story. If you want to take further steps to avoid a hangover, have a glass of water inbetween every couple of drinks while you're drinking, then before hitting the sack, a few glasses of water and maybe a warm meal if you're not trying to lose weight Get hydrated the next day, though, and eat! I also really liked all of Jules Verne's books, especially the ones intertwined with the Nautilus/Nemo storyline, in particular of course, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea itself.
