Took a quarter 8th of shrooms last night. i feel like it teaches me the lessons but just so incredibly slow. yet when i'm uncomfortable i feel like it's all happening too fast and i get scared of being caught out in no-man's land (literally).

all in all, some really great moments and realizations, but just too much of the same mind patterns that have left me just drained and frustrated as fuck. i never paniced, but i feel like some kind of slave to my mind that's just dragging me around everywhere.

any suggestions? i'll take anything other than "lay off the shrooms for a while". i'm going to anyway. also, will acid bring me to these same problems or is it shrooms specifically? mdma doesn't give me any of these problems.

mdma isnt even close to being as psychedelic as psilocin or lsd. lsd and psilocin are themselves utterly different in virtually all regards, other than general similarities like "hallucinations" and "body high", but those are specifically also very different between the molecules.

Shrooms tends to be the thought-loop monster. Its very common. Its usually the seed for a bad trip, too. Thought loops of "im dying" or "this will never end" = bad trip.

you have to take the zen way out man. More drugs wont help, the problem is in how you think. You have to understand that thinking is part of your intellect, which is one very, very small part of your mind.

Being stuck in a thought loop is the exact same phenomenon as a panic attack; they are both unceasing influxes of non-productive data, one in the form of Thoughts, the other in the form of Emotion. Both are like cancers of your Self, so just do your best to step beyond, outside, to the side of, these things.

You are not your thoughts. You *have* your thoughts. If they are not serving you as you would like, then dismiss them. Just like the sudden rush of rage you get in any given day over something small; you take a breath and dismiss it, understanding it is not welcome in your life and has no authority.

I'm all for you laying off shrooms for a while, but a "quarter eighth" isn't going to bring to these realizations by itself.

An average dose for psychonauts is four times that much, an eighth.

no i definitely tripped hard from this amount. not extremely hard but i definitely trip. i seem to be the only one that i know that trips hard from small amounts. i only weigh probably 110. i've also done half an 8th and also an 8th. altogether i've probably tripped on shrooms maybe 11 or 12 times.

Mr. Writer, can't you take this zen approach to tripping though? i agree it is possible to do it without it, but i think also with it. whether i'm sober, stoned, or tripping, or drunk, or rolling...no matter where i am i'm constantly fluctuating in and out of mind illusions..so like you said the drugs aren't necessarily the issue it's the thoughts...shrooms can just tend to exemplify certain thoughts and feelings but i feel that if i can go all the way with it then i reach a profound state of liberation while tripping but also while not tripping.

I know quite a few people who use MDMA to counter the side effect of the initial nausea associated with the come up of a mushroom trip. Psilocybin has taught me that there are good times and bad times to trip. For example, eating 7 grams of shrooms after making a HUGE financial decision that you are leary of is NOT a good idea. I hate having to learn from my own bad experiences and would rather learn from other peoples bad experiences. I suppose that could be the basic premise for building science from nothing. But I agree with Mr. Writer. It's all the power of the mind. You must harness it.
