The Bush administration was about ten steps behind everything that was happening, from 9/11 to Katrina to the energy problem. He lost many of the last few who were supporting him after Katrina. Somehow the administration's response to that disaster had a way of changing people's minds more than the failures of 9/11 and Iraq, perhaps because so many in the country were directly affected. .

Bush started most of which Obama is moving forward. Everything that applied to Bush can just as well apply to Obama. There is no point in comparing the two and arguing over which is better or worse. Both take their orders from the same group of people. Bush was a tyrant. Now it's Obama. Nothing ever changes. I would say the only real difference between Obama and Bush is that Obama will be far more effective in moving forward the globalist agenda, and this is already proving to be true.
I will agree that, as a puppet, Obama is far more dangerous because of his ability to dupe so many people. People were much more skeptical of Bush. However, it's really only a matter of time before people wake up to Obama's games and realize that nothing has changed from the past eight years, only in that things have steamrolled even further ahead at supersonic speeds, all under the banner of "change." You say "Bush's" policies never hurt you, but Obama is simply moving ahead with the same policies that propelled Bush for eight years, and Clinton before that. Things take time to unfold, where you actually begin to experience them firsthand. But what we are seeing with Obama is merely an extension of what we saw with Bush. These people are just frontmen, and until they are seen for what they are, nothing will ever change for the benefit of the average person.
I agree that Obama is a disappointment to progressives. He's lost his nerve on banning assault rifles which he promised to do and his putting economic foxes in charge of the hen house (Summers & Geithner) is a real drag, but that being said, we can still all think back with fondness to the good old days.
