Just was watching my just turned 5 year old, Sage play. She is the only one at home during the day, and I don't really entertain her all day. Yeah. we play, but I beleive "boredom" is the mother of some really inventive play ideas.

So, we have this Attack of the Lady Bugs going on in our house. The same as last year. The are all over the south side of the house, on the INSIDE. So Sage has this little toy vacuum, which really works. She sucks up the Lady Bugs into the vacuum and plays with them.

(Rolling bugs on their backs) "Look, they are dead!" Rolling them back so they move, "Hey, they are alive!" They "sleep" on her toy box at night, in the vacuum. She refuses to beleive they are carnivores and puts leaves in the vacuum for them to "eat." We even went to a Lady Bug website so I could show her they don't eat leaves. She cries when I have to release them outside.

Anybody else's kid as weird as mine?

Today, Ryvre was eating a bowl of gummy worms (his special treat when Nana visits), and all of the sudden, he stopped with a look of concern on his face; he said "Nana, these worms have eyes, i not want to eat them anymore" and he handed the bowl to me. i asked if he wanted me to take the heads off, and he said, very seriously, "no mommy, you not eat them either. Put them away now."

Haha, he's going to be the little vegetarian of the family; if it has a face, he won't eat it! lol

my five year old daughter just decided to become a veggie like me. i thought "hey cool" until i realized that i have to actually cook now. ;)

i have too many stories to tell, but today my daughter, out of boredom, decided to give me a play-by-play of everything she did. like i mean everything!
"mom, i just liked my lip." "mom i almost laughed." "mom i stepped on the buggy wheel" "mom i thought about saying a sass word" and it goes on and on like that for 16 hours. it drove me nuts until i realized she is just bored out of her gourd, and i sent her out to play in the rain. then she came in and had to let me know what she all thought, did, said, etc. while she was outside :)

    oh you gotta love 'em!

My oldest son, who is almost 5 years old, has an obsession with picking fuzz. It drives me up the wall. He has picked apart our computer chair because there was a little hole and he started fiddling with it, and pulls out foam on a daily basis. He is forever picking fuzz off of blankets, furniture, anything else that might have it. I don't know why he does it, but it's maddening! ;)

My 18 month old twin son bangs his crib. He stands there, holds onto the rails, and goes back and forth, back and forth, super fast, so that the crib shakes and bangs up against the wall. I hate that he does that because it look so painful to me the way he bangs his little chest up against those rails, but he's always smiling, singing, or laughing when he does it. He also has a fleece blue blanket that we call "Chew-Chew" that he chews on constantly. He puts it between his teeth and pulls so hard that sometimes he topples over! Another thing is that he has a routine of taking a bite of his food and then throwing it. This happens over and over and over. He will never take more than one bite in a row, it's one bite, then throw. No matter if it's his favorite food or not.

My 18 month old twin daughter doesn't really do anything out of the ordinary. She's pretty normal. *lol*
