Okay, so I want to try this and the cough syrup we usually have here has Acetaminophen and something else. (the tylenol kind) and I have tried that before, before school and I did feel pretty fucked up. But I do not want to harm my body with the other ingredients. So I have been looking on erowid http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/dxm/dxm_info2.shtml and it appears that Would all of those be alright? The site says that they are all OTC. But I didn't think they could sell DXM-only things OTC? Would the Vicks be the best to get? 30mg seems to be a higher amount than the others. Also, about how much would be the reccommended dosage?
VIcks works well, only done it once. drank the whole thing felt it an hour later had well over 300 mg. not doin that ever again.
DXM-only products are definetely sold OTC; dxm is fully legal, it would have to be a pharmacists personal choice to stock such products behind the shelf or the policy of the pharmacy, but that would be unusual.
A lot of people don't like DXM's effects. And a lot of people associate dxm with things like cough syrup, which it is not. So a lot of people who say "i hate dxm" really mean "i hate drinking cough syrup". dissociatives are more hit and miss than any other drug. for some people it's just not fun.
I find it odd that at walmart, they make you take a card up to the pharmacy counter to get coricidin cough and cold. yet other dxm products (including mucinex dm which contains 60mgs in each pill) are right on the shelf.
I'm pretty sure theres two kinds of DXM (I don't think there actually different kinds of the chemical). The only difference is ones about twice as potent, and I think DXM hbr may be the more potent one. So you may want to look into that just so you don't trip too hard. Also NEVER get CCCs. They contain a second active ingredient which can kill you. Delsym has just as much DXM per does as CCCs, but without the second active ingredient. Basically, if it anything besides DXM under active ingredients don't take it, cus it can kill you. I prefer delsym liquid. I've done the robittussin gell caps (like in the picture in the previous post) but I guess they clump together in my stomach and give me a MASSIVELY delayed trip. Also one thing you should know, DXM itself isn't good for you. Not so much your mind or anything, but its actually pretty bad for you stomach lining, and can give you ulcers. But if you stick to once or twice a week max, you'll be fine. I definitely would not recommend drinking it before school every day. Also, I think you asked why some people dont like it. its allot of the side effects. Particularly vomiting and diarrhea. Every time I take DXM, right when the trip starts kicking in I have to run to the bathroom (which is funny, because DXM makes you so un coordinated, if I didn't REALLY have to shit and barf, theres no way I would even try going down to my bathroom). But yeah, after scaling back up the mountains which are my stairs, I'm fine. Also, allot of people say you sort of have a hangover. Although I definitely disagree. The day after a DXM trip, I'll feel very happy and peaceful.

i'd go with generic CVS tussin- per mg it's the cheapest dxm product i've found. and yeah mr.writer is very right, people seem to either love dxm or hate it. there's no harm in seeing if it's your thing though.
